*During an appearance on Rev. Al Sharpton’s radio show, syndicated radio host Tom Joyner suggested that he is among the crop of talent being considered to fill the void left by Don Imus’s radio simulcast on MSNBC.

"You'll never guess who I got a call from yesterday – MSNBC," Joyner told the civil rights activist, according to Richard Prince’s Journal-isms column.  Sharpton said Joyner should accept the offer, stating: "Your numbers were always higher than Imus.'"

MSNBC rep Jeremy Gaines won’t comment on the network’s interest in Joyner. "We're talking to a variety of people to fill in during the 6-9 am time slot over the next several weeks," he said.

NBC White House correspondent David Gregory was the first to fill the vacated slot. This week, the space was filled by Philadelphia radio talk show host Michael Smerconish. Next Monday through Wednesday, nationally syndicated radio host Stephanie Miller is scheduled, said Gaines.
