*As controversy over his simulated sex acts with an underage girl continue to follow R&B singer Akon, the artist says he’ll continue supporting his new album “Konvicted” by joining 50 Cent for a U.S. tour after his current outing with Gwen Stefani ends on June 23 in Irvine, Calif.

"Domestically, I'm going to co-headline with 50 Cent," Akon said, according to Live Daily. "We definitely are looking to drop some heads on that tour."

Dates have yet to be announced, but Akon said the worldwide tour will feature different opening acts in various parts of the globe, according to the Web site.

Meanwhile, Akon was dropped from his promotional deal with Verizon last week amidst the fallout from his Trinidad concert, during which he “danced” way too provocatively on stage with a 15-year-old girl.

Despite all the drama, the singer-songwriter is also currently working on new material for the long-awaited comeback album from Whitney Houston.
