MORGAN FREEMAN ENDS LONG RUN WITH WMA: Actor and his new film production company move to CAA.(May 11, 2007)
*After spending four decades with the William Morris Agency (WMA), actor Morgan Freeman has left the building to seek representation with its rival management firm, Creative Artists Agency (CAA), reports Variety. The Oscar winner had been represented by WMA’s Jeff Hunter ever since discovering him over 40 years ago, when he was a struggling New York stage actor who later moonlighted on PBS’s kids show, “The Electric Company.” CAA has been courting Freeman for a long time, Variety reports. He finally accepted the offer because of his newly-expanded ambitions for Revelations Entertainment, the production company he runs with Lori McCreary. Freeman will next be seen starring with Steve Carell in the Tom Shadyac-directed "Evan Almighty"; he just completed starring with Jack Nicholson in "The Bucket List" and is shooting "Wanted" and “Batman” sequel "The Dark Knight."
