NEW YORK COALITION OPPOSES SAME-SEX MARRIAGE BILL: New Yorkers resisting governor's proposed bill.
A new coalition, the Coalition to Save Marriage in New York, has been formed by ten organizations in New York State to protect the definition of marriage.
The new bill, proposed by New York Governor Eliot Spitzer, will include homosexual relationships, essentially legalizing same-sex marriages.
In response to the bill, the Coalition to Save Marriage in New York, which is composed of conservative political, religious, and public policy groups, is asking state lawmakers to support a comprehensive bill in this year's legislative session that classifies traditional marriage.
