      *Which is it Wesley?

One moment Wesley Snipes claims he’s the victim of “unscrupulous tax advice” which led to his October 2006 indictment on federal tax evasion.  Now, he’s alleging that the IRS is pursuing him (and not others) along racial lines.

Which is it Wesley?  It surely can’t be both.

The IRS contends that Snipes fraudulently claimed refunds of nearly $12 million and also did not file any returns from 1999-2004.  That sounds pretty cut and dry to Mo’Kelly.  Either he did, or he didn’t.  Mo’Kelly touched upon this before.  Either you filed or you didn’t file and if you did, there should be a copy or two in existence.  We can only assume that not filing tax returns for the first part of this century probably had more to do with your audit than your skin color.

Mo’Kelly wants to know what took the government until 2006 to realize it hadn’t been hearing from you?

The head of the IRS could be an Imperial Wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and he still wouldn’t be able to stop Wesley from filing or making copies of his own tax returns for six fiscal years consecutively.  Racism isn’t THAT powerful.  The Xerox copier can still manage to do its job.

Either Wesley did or he didn’t (file).  And Wesley has YET to deny wrongdoing.  The indictment was in October and here we are in June and Snipes has yet to come out and proclaim his innocence.  He’s blamed “unscrupulous tax advice” and “THE MAN” but we’ve yet to hear him utter anything remotely close to the phrase…

“I’m innocent and I can prove it.”  Neither the “innocent,” nor the “I can prove it” part.  The denial of an allegation is usually the first order of business, not the last.  Humor us Wesley, if you can “allege” racism, surely you could’ve at least “alleged” your innocence.

Guess not…because he knows…his a$$ is going to jail.

Let’s not over-think this case.  We should be able to agree that racism does exist and impacts the adjudication of law on all levels.  By no means is Mo’Kelly pushing this fact aside.

At the same time, if the “unscrupulous tax advice” is what got Snipes into this position, then the blame lies with Snipes for hiring that dumb a$$ accountant who gave him the advice and for believing it.

“Hey Wes, I got this brilliant tax strategy for you.  For the next few years, just lie on your taxes and hold back about 12 million.  THEN, for the next six fiscal years after that, give the gub’ment the finger and just don’t file at all.  You’ll save millions and the gub’ment will never even notice!”

      “Really?”

      “Really.”

“Wow, are you sure that’s legal?

“Of course it is, I’m the accountant for Ron Isley and he’s done pretty well too these days.”

      “Ok, you da’ man!”

If Wesley Snipes did actually file but didn’t think to request a copy of his tax return between years 1999 and 2004, that’s not an “unscrupulous tax advice” problem, that’s a “you’re a lying fool Wesley Snipes” problem.

Either you filed or you didn’t.  Either way…Wesley Snipes…yo’ a$$ is going to jail.

Mo’Kelly’s not a licensed tax preparer, but he knows a little bit about common sense.  If you’ve been filing your taxes with the IRS and reporting millions and millions during that time and then just DISAPPEAR in a tax sense from 1999-2004…that’s going to catch their attention.  Nobody reduces their tax liability to zero from multi-millions.

Not only that, if you just disappear from the IRS records but reappear in mediocre vampire movies at the same time, that’s going to catch the government’s attention too.  If Blade II alone grossed $83 million domestically, having nothing to do with DVD rentals or sales and you offer ZERO to the gub’ment…then yeah, you’re probably going to catch a case.  Funny how “racism” works that way.

The IRS isn’t singling Snipes about because he’s African-American.  They’re singling him out because he’s stupid.  If you don’t file taxes for six years consecutively and the IRS is the one who has to bring this to your attention…either you are the biggest idiot in the history of money management or you are a liar…maybe both.  It’s either/or, but the choice of racism is simply not a realistic option here.

And in the end it’s a moot point…Wesley Snipes, yo’ a$$ is going to jail.

Who exactly runs a multi-million dollar business and doesn’t get suspicious when nary a tax return comes across his desk to sign…in like, forever?  Who “forgets” to file taxes six years in a row?  Who…other than Wesley?

And what made him decide to start filing again in 2005?  Did he just act like 1999-2004 never happened?

If the government accuses you of owing $12 million and your “best” comeback is “racism”…   Wesley Snipes…yo’ a$$ is going to jail.

“Wesley Trent Snipes, you’re charged with 12 counts of tax evasion, how do you plead?”

      “Racism your honor…racism.”

“Mr. Snipes, that’s not an appropriate answer.  I need ‘guilty,’ ‘not guilty,’ or no contest.”

      “Your honor, I plead racism.”

“Your honor, my client is right… motion to dismiss on account of my client’s stupidity, racism and unscrupulous tax advice.”

“That’s it, that’s your whole defense?”

      (Gavel strike)

“Let the record reflect that Mr. Snipes is on crack and his a$$ is going to jail.  NEXT CASE.”

Genarlow Wilson, getting 10 years in prison in Georgia for engaging in consensual oral sex with another minor is racism.

Wesley Snipes being indicted over his own stupidity is NOT racism.  It’s stupidity, compounded by unbridled arrogance for claiming racism after the fact.  That is what is going to send him to jail, not racism.  For the amount of money that he (allegedly) owes the government, Snipes should be trading places with Wilson in prison, not mocking the racism in which helped place Wilson in prison.

Nobody should deny that African-Americans have a much more narrow path to navigate and that color rarely affords the benefit of the doubt, despite what those anti-Affirmative Action will argue.  Nobody should argue whether race impacts everything in America spanning from the Oval office to the corner office  at your job because it does.

At the same time, this truism should be a guide to understand why failing to file taxes (allegedly) for six consecutive years exhibits a level of egregious and unparalleled stupidity.  If we can agree that there’s racism, then common sense should tell you to pay your taxes because otherwise…

Wesley Snipes…yo’ a$$ is going to jail.

Blade and Mr. Biggs in jail for tax evasion, what is my Black world coming too?

Thoughts and prayers to Blade, because…yo’ a$$ is going to jail.
