*Well that didn't take long. To some the San Antonio Spurs may be a boring team, but the fact is they are champions. The Spurs captured their fourth title in nine seasons Thursday evening.

The Texas team edged the LeBron James led Cleveland Cavaliers 83-82 to complete a four-game sweep of the NBA finals.

Manu Ginobili scored 13 of his game-high 27 points in the fourth quarter while Tony Parker added 24 points and Tim Duncan had 12 points and 15 rebounds for the Spurs to conclude the best-of-seven championship series.

Parker, by the way, became the first European player named Most Valuable Player of the NBA Finals, averaging nearly 25 points a game to spark the Spurs' offence.

San Antonio won previous crowns in 1999, 2003 and 2005. Coach Gregg Popovich and forward Duncan have been part of all four Spurs championship teams.

Only Boston, Chicago and the Los Angeles Lakers have won more on the NBA's all-time champions list.

The Cavaliers were the eighth team in NBA history to be swept in the final, the first since the Los Angeles Lakers blanked New Jersey in 2002, and failed in their bid for Cleveland's first title in any major sport since 1964.
