RICK FOX AND AMC TEAM FOR HOOPS DRAMA: Former LA Laker to executive produce film set in world of pro basketball.

*Cable channel AMC double teams with former Los Angeles Lakers star Rick Fox to develop a drama series that explores the public and private lives of professional basketball players.

Fox, whose crossover into acting was fueled by a run on HBO’s “Oz,” will executive produce the untitled project with "300" producer Mark Canton, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Rob Sorcher, executive vice president of programming and production at AMC says it’s too early to say whether Fox, formerly married to Vanessa L. Williams, will also star in the series. But "he'll certainly be informing this project as we develop it," Sorcher said.
