SEAN ‘BEAUTIFUL GIRLS’ KINGSTON LANDS B.I.G. BIOPIC OR DOES HE?: Teen singer says he'll play late rapper in Diddy-produced film.(August 31, 2007)
*Reports of Sean Kingston, the 17-year-old singer with the monster hit, "Beautiful Girls," playing the role of the late Notorious B.I.G in a forthcoming biopic, are being thrown into doubt According to WENN and other published reports, Kingston was set to fill the late rapper’s shoes in the tentatively titled "Notorious" film being produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs and directed by George Tillman. "When I first heard about that movie, it was through management,” Kingston reportedly said. “My management told me about it and you know I had auditioned for it and I met with the director and I nailed it and he gave me a shot now at being in the movie." Umm, not so fast kid. A report in allhiphop.com says the producers haven't made a decision as far as who will pay that role. "As producers of the biopic 'Notorious,' we felt compelled to quell the various false media reports indicating Sean Kingston has landed the coveted role of portraying 'The Notorious B.I.G' in the upcoming film," Wayne Barrow told the website. "The role for B.I.G is 100% open and we are diligently searching for the individual to seize the moment and fill those giant shoes of greatness, everyone is being considered, including Sean Kingston but no one has been chosen." (Thank's to Mothership - on the messageboard - for bringing this to our attention.) The (Kingston) Jamaica native, born Kisean Anderson, was raised in Florida and is the nephew of producer Jack Ruby, known for his collaborations with Bob Marley and Burning Spear. In related news, Kingston’s “Beautiful Girls” fall from No. 1 to No. 5 this week on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart, replaced by Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry.”
