According to a new Washington Post poll, a majority of African Americans now believe that football great O.J. Simpson was indeed guilty of the 1994 murders of his former wife Nicole Brown and her friend Ron Goldman.

Simpson was found not guilty of those killings in 1995 during a high profile trial.

At the time, various polls showed up to 80 percent of whites believed Simpson was guilty while 71 percent of Blacks believed he was innocent.

But according to the Post survey, only 40 percent of Blacks questioned now believe Simpson was innocent.

Over 1,000 people were surveyed by telephone. Simpson is currently out on bail accused of leading a "posse" in a Las Vegas hotel robbery to reclaim memorabilia which he says had been stolen from him.

His next court appearance is set for October 22.
