      Word spread quickly earlier this month when Beverly Crawford's label, JDI Records, announced that Crawford would be joining Senator Barack Obama on his campaign trail in South Carolina and other selected campaign stops in coming months.

      This came as no surprise to many Obama supporters who regularly visit the senator's Web site. According to the site, he is "committed to bringing people of all faiths together to put their faith into action to change this country for the better."
 
      South Carolinians who enjoy live praise and worship music are in for a gospel treat because Obama is hosting "Embrace the Change! Gospel Series," a weekend concert series that will bring some of gospel music's top artists to the Palmetto State. 
 
      On October 26th, Beverly Crawford, Mary Mary, Fred Hammond and Hezekiah Walker kick off the series in Charleston. The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Byron Cage and Vanessa Bell Armstrong will raise the roof in Greenwood on October 27th, followed by Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin, Deitrick Haddon and the Mighty Clouds of Joy in Columbia on October 28th.
