STILL MORE DRAMA FOR J.LO'S 'BORDERTOWN': Film likely headed straight to DVD because writer/director is suing for nonpayment.(November 2, 2007)
*Earlier this week, moviefone.com broke news that Jennifer Lopez's upcoming film "Bordertown" would forgo movie theaters and be released straight to DVD. Now we may know why. On Thursday, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that the Directors Guild of America filed an injunction on the movie after writer/director Gregory Nava claimed he never got paid. An insider told the newspaper: "The film can't get a theatrical release until this is sorted out." Mobius Entertainment, the British-based production company behind the film, was not immediately available for comment. But a DGA spokeswoman confirms that the matter is now before the Los Angeles County Superior Court. The film, which was booed during its screening at the Berlin International Film Festival, is a fact-based drama starring J.Lo as a reporter investigating the murders of female factory workers in Mexico. According to Moviefone, "Bordertown" will be released on DVD in January. Speak Out
