FATHER OF DIANA ROSS DIES: Motown legend announces news during Tuesday concert in Los Angeles.

*Fred Ross, the father of entertainer Diana Ross, died Tuesday morning in Detroit at the age of 87, the singer announced.

"He touched many lives and he will be truly missed," Ross, 63, said in a statement, according to People magazine. "I love him very much."

Ross broke the sad news at a sold-out concert in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, where she dedicated her encore song, "I Love You," to her dad.

According to People, she canceled a concert after-party to fly to Detroit with her family.
