      T-Mobile and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) are launching the T-Mobile Huddle Up Scholarship Program to reduce financial barriers and help increase access to higher education for talented, low-income high school seniors from single-parent or non-traditional households in Washington state.

      Through the T-Mobile Huddle Up Scholarship Program, T-Mobile will provide up to 10 qualifying students with scholarships to attend accredited four-year colleges or universities. Scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded annually for up to four years.

      This new scholarship program is part of T-Mobile's company-wide community outreach program, T-Mobile Huddle Up, which connects kids, primarily from single-parent, high-need urban communities to positive people, places and programs.

      Applicants for the T-Mobile Huddle Up Scholarship Program must meet the following eligibility criteria:

    1) High school senior from a single-parent/non traditional household who resides in Washington state

    2) Students must enroll full-time at an accredited four-year college or university

    3) Students must have a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

    4) Students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

    Applicants must complete and submit the T-Mobile Huddle Up Scholarship Program online application at http://www.uncf.org/forstudents/onlinescholarships.asp by December 31, 2007.

      Candidates must submit the following documents to be considered:

    1) Letter of recommendation from a teacher that details the student's talents, interests and aspirations

    2) One-page personal statement of career interests

    3) Current high school transcript

    4) Essay on volunteer experience and what it means to them. Students must demonstrate a commitment to service through dedicated volunteer work in their local community
