GLORIA REUBEN BACK ON 'ER' FOR ONE EPISODE: Return of Jeanie Boulet to air in January.
*Next month, NBC's "ER" doctors will welcome a familiar face who was last seen in Chicago's County General Hospital seven years ago.
Original cast member Gloria Reuben will reprise her role as Jeanie Boulet for one episode to air on Thursday Jan. 3, NBC announced Tuesday.
The last we saw of Jeanie was in 2000, when the HIV positive physician assistant hooked up with police officer Reggie and decided to quit her job to spend more time with Reggie and her adopted HIV-positive baby, Carlos.
On Jan. 3, the character finds herself rushing to the ER after Carlos (now approximately age 7) takes a bad fall during gym class.
Also in the episode, Mekhi Phifer's character Dr. Pratt thinks about quitting his job when the higher-ups at the hospital fail to take him seriously.
