DR. DRE LAUNCHES FANCY LINE OF HEADPHONES: Producer teams with Jimmy Iovine and Monster Cable for high performance product.

During an appearance Sunday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the super producer teamed with Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine and Monster Cable Products to announce a new line of high performance headphones called "Beats by Dr. Dre."
Conceived by Dr. Dre and co-designed by Iovine and Monster Cable sound engineers over the past two years, the headphones use newly developed driver technology and are designed to accurately replicate various frequencies, including low end bass, while maintaining a natural sound.
"When I’m making a track I’m trying to capture the sound that makes me go 'now that’s the s**t!' And I want that reaction from everybody who hears it," says Dre in a statement. "I spend a lot of time in the studio listening to my music through headphones…with 'Beats,' people are finally going to hear it the way they should: the way I do."
The "Beats by Dr. Dre" headphones are due in stores this spring.
