*Daniel Edwards – the sculptor who famously created a life-sized statue of a nude Britney Spears giving birth while on all fours – is back in the headlines with a new work that features Oprah Winfrey as a nude, large-breasted woman with extra-wide hips. Edwards says the piece, titled "The Oprah Sarcophagus," is meant to represent the billionaire philanthropist as the closest thing America has to a living deity. Edwards, 42, is widely known for his sculptures of famous pop culture icons in ways that are often very controversial. His other works have included and a dead Paris Hilton and a dead Prince Harry clutching a cameo locket of his late mother, Princess Diana.
'The Oprah Sarcophagus' In other Winfrey news, the TV host has chosen Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth," a self-help guide by the author of the million-selling "The Power of Now," as her latest book club selection. According to Tolle's Web site, he advocates "transcending our ego-based state of consciousness" as a "prerequisite not only for personal happiness but also for the ending of violent conflict endemic on our planet."
