      *The top sports story today is without a doubt Super Bowl 42 which saw the 18 and 0 New England Patriots get upset by the New York Giants 17-14 in a game played in Glendale, Arizona. The Giants' win came late in the 4th quarter on drive engineered by quarterback Eli Manning that concluded with a 13 yard touchdown toss to wide receiver Plaxico Burress. Manning was also named the game's MVP.

     *Tiger Woods came from behind to win the Dubai Desert Classic on Sunday. One week after winning the Buick Invitational by eight shots, Woods had to birdie five of his last seven holes for a 7-under 65, then wait to see if Ernie Els could catch him. Needing a birdie on the par-5 18th to force a playoff, Els hit his tee shot into the water and made bogey. Sunday's win is the third time Woods has started a season with two straight victories. "To go 2-for-2, it's a pretty good start, isn't it?" Woods said.      

       *After eight years of being eligible, former Washington Redskins wide receiver Art Monk has finally made it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His name was announced Saturday along with famed Redskins cornerback Darrell Green, New England linebacker Andre Tippett, San Diego/San Francisco defensive end Fred Dean, Minnesota/Denver tackle Gary Zimmerman and senior committee choice, Kansas City cornerback Emmitt Thomas. "Whether I deserved to play in the NFL or deserve even to be in Hall of Fame, I just loved the game, loved to play, loved being out there," Monk told reporters.      

       *Michael Jordan has sued a Pennsylvania woman for allegedly bombarding him with hundreds of threatening calls and e-mails over the past couple years, reports the Meadville Tribune. The NBA legend is seeking a special injunction against Lisa Miceli, a Crawford County, Pa. woman who claimed back in 2004 that MJ was the father of her son. Two DNA tests in 2005 have proven that Jordan is not the father, but Miceli has continued her alleged harassment of Jordan, which was described in his injunction as "violent and threatening."
