TV ONE TO SPOTLIGHT FAMILY REUNIONS: Reality series kicks off Easter Sunday with the Williams family of Atlanta.
*This Sunday, TV One will premiere its new reality show "Family Reunion," billed by the network as "the first-ever series to bring a true cultural institution – the Black Family Reunion – to television audiences."
Each episode of this original one-hour series will introduce viewers to a new African American family reunion. Seven families, picked by TV One from thousands of submissions, will welcome viewers to share all the tears, laughs, hugs and conflicts that go along with bringing together far-flung family members, each with its own compelling histories and shared memories.
Hosted by George Wilborn of TV One's "Baisden After Dark," the show will pit families against each other in a specially-designed TV One competition, with two lucky clans competing at the end of the season in a special grand prize challenge to choose the best cook, best patriarch, best singer and best dancer.

At stake: TV One will bestow the title of “America’s Best Black Family” and award more than $25,000 in cash and prizes to use at their next family reunion.
“Our 'Family Reunion' series is about an institution that is uniquely black,” said TV One Executive Vice President of Programming and Production Rose Catherine Pinkney. “It showcases TV One’s commitment to portraying the breadth and depth of African American culture. We think our viewers will love and respond to it as much as we do.”
"Family Reunion" is scheduled to debut on Easter Sunday (March 23) from 7-8 p.m. ET. The first episode spotlights the Williams family of Atlanta, Georgia led by Willie Louder and his wife Sheila, the driving forces behind the 35th reunion of this remarkable clan.
