KEVIN NELSON ENTREPRENEUR EXTRODINARE: He knows you gotta have more than one hustle.
He is fully aware that money makes the world go round, and has successfully created businesses which keep him right in the money making loop.
“Coming out of school I had my own business,” said Nelson, in a phone interview with EURweb.
Mr. Nelson has been an entrepreneur since the age of twelve. He’s had lemonade stands, pumped gas, and he’s even been a grocery carrier. Today, Nelson is the head of three well-known financial businesses: World Wide and Financial Solutions, Omni Associates, Inc. and American Management.
“I started out doing personal credit restoration…because my own credit was bad. (I) was able to get good at it from cleaning my own credit up,” explained Nelson.
And by him working in the music industry during this time, he put artists and financial management together, which became the gateway towards his multi-layered consulting businesses.
Nelson’s organizations focus on analyzing businesses and handling entertainment related services. His clients have ranged from artists such as Ralph Tresvant, Adina Howard, H-Town, The Mary Jane Girls and Beverly Hills 90210 star Brian Austin Greene.
Mr. Entrepreneur himself also reaches out to the kiddies, with his non-profit organization Taking A Positive Step (TAPS).
“We mentor young adults between the ages of 12 and 19 years old (in skills such as) getting their credit straight, how to open a checking account, setting up a business accounts (etc),” said Nelson.
With his financial, artists management, and non-profit businesses, one would think that someone as busy as Kevin Nelson wouldn’t have time for family responsibilities, but he even consults his children on finances and small business ventures. Both his son and daughter are creating their own money-making businesses.
“I just got a life coach for my youngest daughter, as well as my oldest son,” Nelson shares. “He (His oldest son) just started his own record label, he’s currently holding two intern positions. My daughter she’s 14, she’s in the process of starting her own clothing line.”
By setting his children on the right track, Nelson has the opportunity to continue to create more and more successful businesses.
“I love money… At the same token….I enjoy helping people, that’s my number one reason for doing what I do,” he admits as the cause of him being a workaholic.
