ICE CUBE TO TOUR BEHIND 'RAW FOOTAGE': Album due Aug. 19; tour to begin two days later and last through Sept.(July 1, 2008)
*Actor-producer Ice Cube is going back to his hip hop roots this summer to promote his upcoming album, "Raw Footage." The former member of gangsta rap group NWA has organized a late-summer U.S. tour to coincide with the album's Aug. 19 release. The trek will hit clubs and theaters across the country, beginning Aug. 21 in Seattle and wrapping Sept. 21 in New York City. [Scroll down to view itinerary.] "Raw Footage," Ice Cube's ninth solo album, will be released on his own Lench Mob Records label. Guest artists are expected to include Musiq Soulchild, Nas, Scarface and Dub C, according to Cube's Web site. A couple of songs from the album--"It Takes a Nation" and "Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It"--are being previewed at his MySpace page. His next big-screen effort is a comedy titled "Janky Promoters," which he wrote and will produce. Cube is also set to star in the flick alongside "Friday After Next" alumni Mike Epps and Terry Crews.
