ISAIAH WASHINGTON SUPPORTS GAY MARRIAGE: Actor fired for homophobic outburst donates to group against anti-marriage amendment.
*Outsports.com is reporting that Isaiah Washington has contributed money to a group that seeks to stop the anti-gay marriage amendment on the ballot in November.
The actor's publicist, Howard Bragman, got married to his partner under the new law several days ago and requested that in lieu of gifts, guests donate to Equality California, which sponsors and helps lobby for the passage of dozens of bills supporting gay rights.
Washington was among the many guests who have contributed to the group, the Web site reported.
“Chuck and I were very touched by his generosity and his support of this cause, and we expect many other high-profile contributions,” Bragman told Outsports.com of Washington. “He said he wishes us all the best and he supports the rights of others in our community to get married.”
