MICHELLE OBAMA AMONG VANITY FAIR'S BEST DRESSED: Wife of Barack graces annual list; Kanye blogs about making the cut.
*Vanity Fair magazine has released its 2008 International Best Dressed List and sitting pretty among the fashionistas is possible future First Lady Michelle Obama, wife of presumptive presidential nominee Barack Obama.
In a just-released slide show of the winners, the magazine's editors called Mrs. Obama "our commander-in-sheath" and mentioned some of the standout ensembles she has worn throughout the year, including the Maria Pinto purple sheath, with a black Azzedine Alaïa belt, when her husband claimed the Democratic presidential nomination; and the Donna Ricco black-and-white print dress from her appearance on "The View."
Also making the list this year is Kanye West, who actually found himself at a loss for words when attempting to comment about it on his blog.
He wrote: "I've sat in front of this computer for 20 minutes trying to put into words how I feel... who all to thank... and how to celebrate... this is a true honor and I am humbled by it!!!"
Also on the list: Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Daniel Craig, Sarah Jessica Parker, Karl Lagerfeld and David Beckham.
