Pastor Gregg Patrick (The Bridge), with other colleagues, garnered support from President Bush for an effort long overdue called Gospel Heritage Month.

Having spearheaded the venture to declare September a recurring national holiday as ‘Gospel Heritage Month,’ Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee met with members of the executive committee to aid in the production of the first event to be held in Houston, Texas – Sunday, September 21, 2008.

The concert event will be produced for television by Pastor Patrick of “Take It to the Bridge” productions, who is also enjoying the great success of their debut CD/DVD, “Crossover.”

The CD debuted at #9 on Billboard’s Gospel Charts and is continuing to gain more national airplay with the single “I Am A Witness” on the R&R charts.

The concert will be aired in September on The Gospel Music Channel, which originated the idea for the month-long celebration. Due to Congresswoman Lee's efforts, this bill passed both houses, and was signed into law by President Bush in only 6 months.

Interested performers and sponsors should call Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee's office in Houston or Washington D.C. or Pastor Patrick at 877-678-LOVE (5683). Pastor Gregg Patrick & The Bridge Project CD/DVD are in stores now from Tyscot Records-Crossover Entertainment.
