'IDOL'S' LAKISHA JONES TALKS UP NUPTIALS: Singer's wedding planner designed look of Oprah's 50th birthday bash.
"American Idol" finalist LaKisha Jones was to tie the knot at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills Sunday with her beau Larry Davis, a financial adviser from Houston.
"I'm very excited," Jones, 28, tells People. “My [5-year-old] daughter Brionne is the flower girl, and she woke up this morning and said, 'We have [a few] days, Mommy, and then I can put on my dress!'"
The bride was to wear an Alfred Angelo strapless gown, Neil Lane diamond earrings and crystal encrusted custom-made Stuart Weitzman shoes as part of an "old Hollywood glamour" theme crafted by planner Rená Puebla, who crafted the look of Oprah’s 50th birthday party.
The guest list included fellow "Idol" finalists Sanjaya Malakar, Melinda Doolittle, Gina Glocksen and Haley Scarnato.
"Chaka [Khan] is supposed to be there to make an appearance," she said. "I am very excited about that. It's people that have gone through different things with me."
Meanwhile, Jones is preparing for the Oct. 21 release of her single, "So Glad I’m Me," in anticipation of her first solo CD.
"I am glad to be me," Jones says. "I may not have won American Idol, but I have won because I'm able to provide a better life for me and my daughter and that’s all I've ever wanted."
