BESLA CONFERENCE TO BE HELD IN VIRGIN ISLANDS: Michael Eric Dyson to keynote event for Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association.
*Hundreds of influential entertainment and sports lawyers, executives and celebrities will converge next month at the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association’s (BESLA) Conference in the Virgin Islands.
The 28th Annual BESLA Conference, which will be held October 22 – 26 at the Frenchman’s Reef and Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort in St. Thomas, Virgin will feature Michael Eric Dyson as the keynote speaker at an awards gala scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25.
BESLA President and conference co-chair Tamela Cash-Curry said: “On the eve of this year’s presidential election, our theme, ‘The Urgency of NOW: Effective Legal Strategies For A Competitive Advantage,’ speaks to the urgency of committed action.
BESLA will also honor Max Siegel, the highest-ranking African American executive in the history of NASCAR. Siegel is President of Global Operations for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. one of the premier franchise names in professional auto racing. Siegel, who is a BESLA board member, will receive the BESLA Excellence Award.
