*The Urban Music Awards at London’s O2 were tarnished on 16 November when they ended abruptly in bloodshed.

Ninety minutes into proceedings, a young man was stabbed. Yet again ill intentioned youths marred celebrations of talent, success and positivity.

In response the Invincible Media Group have founded a Stamp Out Violence campaign.

The organisers of the event gave the Awards to the full list of winners including announcing the winner of Britain’s Next Urban Superstar 2008, on 21 November in an event filmed at the UMA academy in London. The awards were broadcast on Flava TV, Sky channel 367 on the 26 of November 2008, and repeated for three weeks thereafter.

While the live streaming of the event was cancelled, you can watch news about the ceremony, visit ITV Local London – the official media partner of the Urban Music Awards 2008. Video previews and highlights from last year’s awards are also available on-demand.

Sway won best hip-hop, Leona Lewis won best R&B act and best album 2008, and Estelle ft. Kanye West won best collaboration for American Boy. For the full list of winners visit: http://www.urbanmusicawards.net//uk_news.php?id=89&start=0&limit=10
