LL COOL J CIRCLING 'NCIS' SPINOFF: Rapper in talks to join CBS series as a former Navy Seal.

      *Rapper LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell are in talks to join the upcoming spinoff of "NCIS," the CBS police procedural about a fictional team of special agents who conduct criminal investigations involving the Navy and Marine Corps.

       The spinoff pilot will air as an episode of "NCIS" this spring, just as the pilot for "NCIS" aired as an episode of "JAG."      

       LL Cool J would play Sam Hannah, a former U.S. Navy Seal described as tough but charming. O'Donnell is eying the role of Callen, an average guy born to do undercover work as the ultimate chameleon, taking on different identities.      

       In 2006, CBS signed LL to a development deal, which led to him starring in the 2007 CBS pilot "The Man."
