*Grammy-nominated singer Wayna was arrested at a Houston airport Wednesday after trying to board a plane with a collapsible police baton that she uses in her stage act.

The artist, whose real name is Woyneab Miraf Wondwossen, was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon after security guards at the checkpoint at Bush International Airport discovered the 24-inch baton in her carry-on bag.

Wondwossen, 35, was transported to the Houston jail and posted $5,000 bond, the Associated Press reported.

Wayna released her second album, "Higher Ground," in 2008. One of the tracks, titled "Billy Club," is a ballad about police abuse, and Wondwossen twirls and points the baton when she performs the song live. [View clip below.]

In October 2006, Snoop Dogg was arrested at Burbank Airport in Southern California for carrying a collapsible baton through a security checkpoint. The rapper said he was going to use the object in a music video.
