KOFI ANNAN SIGNS BOOK DEAL: Former U.N. Secretary-General to publish memoir.

      *Former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan will write a memoir about his dealings with world figures under a deal signed with Penguin Press, the publisher announced Wednesday.

       The Nobel Peace Prize-winner says "a lot has been said and written" regarding his decade as secretary-general, but now he will finally get to tell his own story.      

       According to the Associated Press, the book will include accounts of the 71-year-old Ghanaian diplomat's interactions with world figures from George W. Bush, Vladimir Putin and Saddam Hussein to Nelson Mandela and Yasser Arafat      

       Penguin Press has yet to set a date for the book's release.
