*Several weeks after Ashanti was dropped from her contract with The Inc, (formerly Murder Inc), R&B artist Lloyd has announced his departure from the Irv Gotti-run label after a five year run.

“I’m ready for a change,” Lloyd explained in a press release. “There’s no bad blood. I just feel I need to take more control over my career and get a fresh start. Hopefully Irv can understand my position.”

Lloyd alerted followers of his Twitter page that an announcement regarding his record contract would be made earlier this week. He wrote: “I’ve been meeting with my management team and my attorneys for the past 2 days. Expect an announcement today regarding my label situation…”

Rapper Ja Rule and pop singer Vanessa Cartlon remain on The Inc.
