Residents can go to City Hall for a liquor license or even a gun permit. But when it comes to setting up a prayer booth one Michigan atheist group has a problem with that.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation has protested a local church's prayer booth at City Hall in Warren, Michigan. But that hasn't kept more than 400 people from stopping to ask for prayer for jobs, medical miracles or more money.

The prayer booth is run by the Tabernacle Church. And Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said the church, like any other organization, rented the space that is available to anyone who fills out the proper paperwork and complies with city policy. Fouts said the Freedom From Religion Foundation could rent space, but has chosen not to.

Mat Staver of the Liberty Counsel, said if the atheist organization files a lawsuit to halt the prayer booth, his organization would defend the City of Warren free of charge.
