THOUGHT AND PRAYER FOR TODAY: Good morning, God truly loves you, and so do I!

Freedom! You know, many have learned that it's all to easy to lose what many of us take for granted. We can lose our freedom all at once, simply by reverting to patterns that previously had enslaved us.

We can jeopardize our freedom by making choices involving trade-offs, accepting a job offer for more money and prestige for example, but requiring us to give up cherished principles and career goals.

Or, by our inaction, a more subtle erosion of our freedom can take place if we remain in a relationship, for example, because it offers many advantages, even though it requires us to compromise our values and individuality.

You see, personal freedom in the final analysis is our individual responsibility, for it depends primarily on our choices and actions.

If we are self-honest, especially concerning motives, if we seek God's guidance, and if we then courageously strive to make the right choices and take the right actions, it's likely we will not only preserve but also strengthen our personal freedom. I choose to be free. What do you choose?

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I thank You for another day of life and freedom. Lord, I pray for independence and freedom for all Your creation. While we celebrate and laugh at the bursting fireworks, some are in fear and trembling, Lord be with them. Lord, we thank You for the dream of truth and righteousness. Let us be a part of that dream. Help us, O Lord, to shine forth the light of Your truth for others to see. Establish Your kingdom within our hearts that we might know Your truth here and now. How wonderful it is to realize that You are our God. help us Father, to yield to Your power and to experience Your rule. Lord, thank You for Your Word. Thank You, Lord, love and forgiveness of our sins. Lord, we thank You for good health. We thank You for freedom. Thank You. In Jesus name. Amen.
