'ADVANCE SCREENINGS' SET FOR MJ'S 'THIS IS IT': Also, global premiere events planned around the globe.

*The Michael Jackson movie "This Is It" -- based on footage from concert rehearsals before his death in June – will begin showing in movie theaters the night before its official Oct. 28 release.

Many of the "advance screenings" will take place in about 2000 locations as early as 9 p.m. PT on Oct. 27. In Los Angeles, a premiere will kick off at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Nokia Theatre in downtown L.A.

The film's two-week run is scheduled to run in more than 3,000 theaters nationwide beginning the following day. Advance ticketing for all of the domestic shows begins Sunday.

Sony also plans more than 25 premieres of the film around the world, with 15 or more of the premieres to be staged simultaneously on Oct. 27.

More than 15 cities around the world, including New York, Rio de Janeiro, London, Berlin and Seoul will host simultaneously, said Sony Pictures, which paid $60 million for rights to the rehearsal footage. Names of the other premiere-night cities were not released.

The opening events will feature satellite transmissions of Hollywood stars arriving at the premiere in Los Angeles. London's premiere will happen after midnight local time on October 28, while Seoul's event is scheduled for the morning of that day.

In all, more than 25 cities worldwide will have premieres for the movie but not all will take place at the same time.

"Michael Jackson has an army of fans everywhere around the world,"
said Sony worldwide marketing and distribution chairman Jeff Blake. "By rolling out this film with simultaneous premieres and special advance screenings on Oct. 27, we are giving audiences an incredible opportunity to join together in celebration of Michael Jackson's incredible career."

FAST BREAK TO THE ALTAR FOR ODOM & KHLOE K: Reports have wedding scheduled for this Sunday. Mama K calls rush 'romantic.'

*People magazine is quoting "multiple sources" who say that Khloe Kardashian and Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom – her boyfriend of only a month – are to be married this weekend in Los Angeles.

The ceremony, to be held late Sunday at the L.A.-area home of music manager Irving Azoff, is being thrown together so quickly that guests are being notified by phone that formal invitations will arrive this week, the sources add.

According to both People.com and E! Online, the couple went ring shopping over the weekend and found one that Khloe liked.

TMZ reported that all of Odom' Lakers teammates and coaches are invited to the ceremony, and that it was Odom's idea to rush the wedding so that he can be a married man before basketball season begins. The Lakers have their first preseason game on Oct. 7.

Ryan Seacrest caught up with Khloe's mom Kris Jenner to get her take on Khloe's marriage taking place after only a month of courtship.

"You know, that's how Bruce [Jenner] and I met," she said Tuesday on Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show. "We met, and we were married four months later. Isn't that romantic?" She added, "I just go by what I feel. If you meet somebody, you just know."

Asked whether she's seen an engagement ring, Kris replied, "Not around here. I've been looking."

She also denied rumors that Khloe is pregnant.

BECK SAYS MCCAIN WORSE THAN OBAMA: Fox News host thinks he may have voted Hillary for prez over Arizona senator.

*Fox News host and supreme tea bagger Glenn Beck, the man who famously called President Obama a racist, thinks GOP nominee John McCain would have been worse for the country had he won the election.

"How about this? I think John McCain would have been worse for the country than Barack Obama. How’s that?," he tells CBS's Katie Couric for her new Web series @KatieCouric, which premiered Tuesday at 7 p.m. on CBSNews.com.

Beck, who called the Arizona senator a "weird progressive like Theodore Roosevelt," said he may have even voted for Sen. Clinton over McCain had she become the Democratic nominee.

"I can’t believe I’m saying this, I think I would have much preferred her as president and may have voted for her against John McCain,"

Couric's recurring Web cast, according to the New York Daily News, will feature one-on-one interviews with top newsmakers from the worlds of politics, business, entertainment and more.  CBSNews.com is also working with Facebook to host an online video chat for users to speak directly with Katie following the webcasts.

CONRAD MURRAY'S EX SUBPOENAED BY GRAND JURY: Woman ordered to testify this week as part of MJ's death investigation.

*Prosecutors investigating Michael Jackson’s death have ordered the girlfriend of the singer’s personal doctor to testify before a grand jury this week, according to reports.

Nicole Alvarez, the girlfriend of Dr. Conrad Murray, who remains the focus of a manslaughter investigation into the pop star's death, has been called as a witness "in an investigation pending before said grand jury,"
according to a subpoena obtained by ABC News. Jackson's June 25 death was ruled a homicide caused by drugs administered in Jackson's mansion by Murray, his personal physician.

This summer, police searched the apartment where Alvarez lives with the couple’s infant son, but she was not forthcoming with detectives, sources told the Los Angeles Times.

However, her attorney Joseph Low told ABC News that his client is now cooperating with law enforcement.

A search warrant obtained by ABC states that on August 13, 2009 police looked in Alvarez's home and a car registered to Murray's sister and retrieved a business card with Conrad Murray's name on it, a piece of paper, a receipt and a medical invoice.

Alvarez, who reportedly gave birth in March to Murray's seventh child, a baby boy they named Che Giovanni, is a resident of Santa Monica, Calif. She has reportedly been Murray's girlfriend since 2005 but is not clear from the documents how she plays into the manslaughter investigation into Murray.

HERSHEL WALKER IS NOW AN MMA FIGHTER: Former NFL star signs contract with Strikeforce; heads to training camp next month.

*Former NFL Pro Bowl running back Herschel Walker has followed up his run on NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" with a new contract to become a Mixed Martial Arts fighter.

Promoter Strikeforce announced that the one-time Heisman trophy winner – and fifth degree black belt in Taekwondo – has signed a multi-fight contract and will begin a 12-week training camp in California next month.

"I will go in there and test myself against any 20-year-old," the 47-year-old said in a statement. "I want to prove to people who sit on a couch and don't do anything but criticize other people that, if you're a true athlete or martial artist, you're not old until you can't get up and walk around anymore.

"I've been training for several years," Walker added. "I would play college football games on Saturday and then compete in martial arts tournaments on Sunday after church I'm now looking forward to opening up another chapter in my life and to competing in MMA."

After winning the 1982 Heisman trophy as U.S. college football's outstanding player, Walker played 12 seasons in the NFL with four teams including the Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings.

NEW BOOK CITES RUMORS ABOUT OBAMA MARRIAGE: Author Christopher Andersen makes claims of jealousy, silent treatments and more.

*A new book about the First Couple's marriage claims Michelle Obama gave her husband the silent treatment at one point during the presidential campaign, and that he had eyes for a young woman working for the campaign.

In "Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage" (William Morrow), Christopher Andersen claims brazen women on the campaign trail "pushed their bodies up against his, slipped phone numbers into his pockets"
and whispered lewd suggestions in his ear as he traveled across the country running for president.

"On more than one occasion, Barack tried not to look startled when some random woman in the crowd would grasp him firmly by the derriere -- and sometimes try to hold on," Anderson wrote.

The author claims that after an appearance in Peoria, Ill., the future president slid into the back of his SUV, and allegedly said, "Jesus, I wish they'd stop grabbing my ass."

"Michelle, understandably was not amused," Andersen writes. He quotes her as saying, ". . . I want to tell these women, 'Back off. Get a life.'
It's just embarrassing, that's all."

The book relates, "Michelle knew that all the unseemly fawning nourished Barack's admittedly already oversize ego. 'He's loving it,' she muttered at one point. 'He's a man, isn't he?' Once again, she resorted to giving him the silent treatment."

Andersen cites rumors "that it was more than just the random flirting from strangers that was getting to Michelle. Her husband, it would later be reported, had grown close to an attractive young African-American woman [working for the Obama campaign] named Vera Baker.

"When Baker suddenly and inexplicably vanished from the campaign and resurfaced on the Caribbean island of Martinique, tongues reportedly began wagging. A jealous Michelle, it was suggested, had engineered Baker's departure."

Andersen writes that Baker later told a reporter, "Nothing happened .
. . I don't have anything to say."

PLAXICO BURRESS SERVING TIME AT FISHKILL: Former wide receiver sentenced to two years in prison on gun charge.

*Plaxico Burress on Tuesday received a two-year prison sentence in New York after pleading guilty to weapons charges.

According to TMZ.com, the former NFL star was surrounded by his wife, son and father in the court room. When the sentence was handed down, he reportedly hugged his wife, cradled his son and began to cry. The other members of his family also shed tears.

Moments later, Plaxico made a statement in front of the judge saying, "I apologize to my family ... I thank everyone for their support."

According to Plax's lawyer, Ben Brafman, the receiver was taken to the Manhattan Detention Complex immediately after the hearing and was expected to be shipped to Rikers Island correctional facility, and then quickly moved to the Fishkill Correctional Facility in upstate New York.

He'll reportedly spend a total of 4-6 going through the Rikers and Fishkill systems while authorities determine where the bulk of his two-year sentence will take place, TMZ reported.

In November 2008, Burress suffered an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to the right thigh in the New York City nightclub LQ when his Glock pistol, tucked in the waistband of his black jeans, began sliding down his leg; apparently in reaching for the gun he inadvertently depressed the trigger, causing the gun to fire.

The injury was not life-threatening and he was released from an area hospital the next afternoon. The following Monday, Burress turned himself in to police to face charges of criminal possession of a handgun.

NAACP PLANS RALLY FOR GOV. PATERSON: Local Islip branch announces support for politician despite unpopularity across state.

*New York's Gov. David Paterson is getting support from a local NAACP branch amid reports that the White House and top Democrats in the state want a stronger candidate at the top of the 2010 ticket.

A branch of the NAACP in Islip says it and other groups are planning a rally to support Paterson, who grew up partly on Long Island. They want to show respect for the state’s first black and disabled governor and urge Democrats to let him deal with the fiscal crisis, not politics.

The Rev. Al Sharpton weighed in Monday on his Twitter page, urging Democrats to settle the issue so that what he calls “reactionary forces”
can’t win back the seats of power held by Democrats.

PLAXICO TO STOP AT RIKERS AND FISHKILL: Former wide receiver sentenced Tuesday on gun charges.

*Plaxico Burress, the former New York Giants wide receiver who accidentally shot himself in the leg at a nightclub last year, was sentenced Tuesday to two years in prison on various gun charges.

His lawyer Benjamin Brafman said the athlete was headed for Rikers Island in New York City, and then Downstate Correctional Facility in Fishkill, New York, before he would be processed and sent to a another facility.

Burress, 32, pleaded guilty last month in state court in Manhattan to attempted possession of a weapon, as part of an agreement with prosecutors. He was indicted on more serious weapons-possession charges that carried a mandatory 3 1/2 years in prison.

“There is nothing I can say that can change the outcome of this morning’s proceedings,” Benjamin Brafman, Burress’s attorney, told Justice Michael H. Melkonian of the state Supreme Court. “If anything good can come out of this tragic case, perhaps other athletes, other young people, will think about the severe consequences that can befall them should they unlawfully possess a weapon.”

Burress was teary-eyed after he hugged and kissed his wife Tiffany, (pregnant with a daughter due in November), 3-year-old son, Elijah, and other family members in the courtroom. He apologized to them in a barely audible voice.

“We will all get through this,” Brafman quoted Burress as saying.

With good behavior on a two-year sentence, Burress will be released in 20 months.

The National Football League suspended him last month and Commissioner Roger Goodell said he could join a team after the prison term.
The Giants dropped him in April.

*Jay-Z was so angry at the residents in his apartment building who objected to his who moving there that he deliberately tries to antagonize them as often as possible.

"My neighbors didn't want me in the building, it was a whole big thing, it was really racist. They didn't want me in so I bought the biggest place there," he told BBC radio's Trevor Nelson. "They have a board and voting is based on how much of the property share you have so I have the biggest share and I go down just to vote on things I don't care about just to tick 'em off.

"I guess they think I'm having parties and there's shootings going on, but I have normal breakfasts and lunches. My friends come over - accountants and bankers - and I make them all wear black so the neighbors think they're gangsters. It's fun."

In other Hov news, Jay-Z took a swipe at rap rival 50 Cent while discussing the Kanye West VMA incident in London.

While admitting his former mentee was rude to grab Taylor Swift's microphone in the middle of her acceptance speech, he attributed the behavior to Kanye being "a super-passionate person."

Nelson suggested that Kanye was picking his battles and would not have interrupted a rapper like 50 Cent.

“I think he would have done that if that was 50 Cent,"
Jay-Z told Nelson. "No one is scared of 50 Cent. I want everyone to be
clear. No one is scared of 50 Cent.”

In a recent interview, 50 Cent stated he would have had something waiting for Kanye in the same situation.

"I wish he could come take one of my awards so I could black his eye in front of everybody," 50 Cent stated.

EUR DVD REVIEW: Blood and Bone
Michael Jai White Stars in Straight-to-Video Street Fight DVD Drama
DVD Review by Kam Williams

*After Isaiah Bone (Michael Jai White) is paroled from the penitentiary he has a hard time finding a legit line of work so he can provide for his loyal and patient wife, Tamara (Nona Gaye).

So, given that he's buff and good with his fists and feet, he descends upon the underground street fighting scene where rumor has it that a purse can be as much as $5 million. Of course, even in back alley brawling, you still have to work your way to the top before you can get a piece of the reigning champ.

Just like when he was behind bars, Bones proves to be invincible. And it isn't long before he's wiped out all the other contenders, leaving a trail of crumpled bodies littered around and writhing on the ground in his wake, much like a black Bruce Lee.

Still, his march to the big showdown with Pretty Boy Bryce isn't without complications, as the local mob boss, Franklin McVeigh (Julian Sands), wants a cut of the action. Plus, the dastardly McVeigh has a damsel-in-distress in need of rescue, angelic Angela (Michelle Belegrin).

Directed by Ben Ramsey, Blood and Bone is a decent, low-budget splatter affair for folks who care more about body counts and orchestrated martial arts stunts than a coherent storyline. Michael Jai White (Spawn) makes a convincing case here that he deserves future consideration as an action star on the order of a Vin Diesel or a Sylvester Stallone.

A take no prisoners flick featuring plenty of balls-out action for the bloodlust demo.

EMPLOYEE THEFT: Two men charged with stealing from Christian radio station.

*Two Ohio men are charged with stealing money from a Christian radio station after police say they tried to take more than $24,000 in credit card transactions and bad checks. According to RadioFacts.com., Richard L. Waldron, who was the station's general manager, was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury this week for grand theft and six counts of forgery. Jack L. Karsten, Jr., its former public accountant, was indicted for tampering with records and evidence. The money was found missing in the spring of 2008 from WPOS-FM (102.3) in Holland, Ohio. Both men left the station later that year.

"We knew that there were some irregularities. The indictments don't even cover all of the money we believe is missing," Al Gaige, the station's general manager, said in an interview.

A statement issued by WPOS said the station's board of directors discovered the problem in May, 2008. The board since has changed its accounting procedures.

PORNO AND THE FAMILY: Weekend conference set to help guard against deterioration of values.

*A church in Georgia will host a weekend conference to warn couples and parents about the negative effects of pornography. Victory World Church in Norcross will host "The Porn Talk," a three-day dialogue about porn’s effects on families, marriages and children. About 1,500 adults and youngsters are expected to the event.

"The reality is it’s really destroying homes," church pastor Dennis Rouse told the Journal-Constitution.

Statistics show the average child first views pornography at age 11, 40 million U.S. adults regularly visit pornographic web sites, and 47 percent of families say pornography is a problem in their home.

The Porn Talk, the first of its kind for the nondenominational church founded in 1990, will focus sex-related topics such as sex outside marriage and alternative sexual lifestyles.

Speakers from the nonprofit group XXXchurch.com are conducting sessions tailored to specific groups: Porn & Pastries (women), Porn & Pancakes (men), Porn & Parents (parents) and Porn & Pizza (middle and high school students).

RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS: Gun maker uses Bible to sell products.

*An advertising campaign created by a U.S. gun maker has drawn attention because of its use of the Bible. According to the New York Times, Henry Repeating Arms, based in Bayonne, N.J., is one of the few gun makers that markets to the general public.

According to the New York Times, a print ad in their latest campaign a man wearing a holster with a gun on one side and a Bible on the other, with the caption "There is nothing wrong with clinging to your guns and religion."

The caption is a quote of Anthony Imperato, president at Henry, in a clear reference to a remark last year by Barack Obama before he was elected president.

Other ads created by the gun company include statements such as: "During this past presidential election folks like us were mocked for our beliefs, but we know better." After declaring, "We believe in God, Our Country and Our Freedoms," the ad goes on to say: "If you do too, we’d love to hear from you.

Although gun makers are allowed to create commercials, they may not offer their products for sale directly to consumers.

ANTI-ABORTION ATTACK: Two women charged.

*An Arizona resident well known for his sidewalk protests against abortion is recovering from an assault by two women. Police say Johnny Wallace was attacked by the two women as he held two signs protesting abortions in Flagstaff over the weekend. The attack happened just a week after another man was shot and killed for his public stand against abortion, according to the Christian Newswire.

According to police Wallace held signs that read, "Abortion kills more black Americans in four days than the Klan killed in 150 years," and "Life begins at conception and ends at Planned Parenthood." Wallace was known to protest at that location every day.

Both women, who confronted Wallace and tried to destroy his signs were cited and released on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage.

FEMALE PASTORS ON THE RISE: Income still below that of male pastors.

*The percentage of women who serve as senior pastors in churches across America has doubled in the past decade, according to a new survey by the Barna Group. That means one in 10 U.S. churches employs a woman as leader of the church.

Most of the women — 58% — work in mainline Protestant churches, such as the United Methodist Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and the Episcopal Church. The UMC and its forerunner has ordained women for five decades; the ELCA and its predecessor has for almost 40 years, and the Episcopal Church has ordained women since 1976.

Barna's survey found that female pastors tend to be more highly educated than their male counterparts, with 77% earning a seminary degree, compared to less than two-thirds of male pastors (63 percent) . But male pastors still rake in larger incomes. The average compensation package for female pastors in 2009 is $45,300, Barna says, while males earn $48,600. The compensation gap has closed in the last decade, though, with females earning 30% more than they did in 1999, according to the survey.
