*A trial date has been set for Lil Wayne's drug possession case stemming from an arrest last January at a Border Patrol checkpoint in Yuma, Ariz.

The artist, born Dwayne Carter, Jr., will head to court in March on three drug possession charges after cops allegedly found cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana on his tour bus. An additional weapons charge was subsequently dropped after the .40 caliber pistol found on the bus was discovered to be registered to the star in Florida.

Lil Wayne's lawyer tried to have the case dismissed over claims the sniffer dogs used in the search were unreliable. However, a judge in Yuma on Thursday ordered the rapper to stand trial in Spring 2010.

The New Orleans native is also facing trial in New York on gun possession charges stemming from a 2007 arrest in that city.
