KANYE, SPIKE JONZE TEAM FOR 'FAIRYTALE' SHORT: Eleven-minute clip ends with rapper pulling demon out of his stomach.

*The Spike Jonze-directed short "We Were Once a Fairytale," starring Kanye West as an obnoxious jerk debuted on the Web Monday (Oct. 19) and was posted at the rapper's own Web site for a hot minute before it was taken down.

The film, originally due Sept. 8 (before the VMA incident), features West wandering around a club in a drunken state as one of his songs plays in the background. He asks various club goers if they like his tune.

At the end of the film, he stabs himself with a sword and pulls what appears to be a little demon out of his stomach. He then gives the demon a sword, and it stabs itself.

A rep for "Where the Wild Things Are" Jonze says the video was made within the past year.

NIPPY HAS A NEAR NIP SLIP: Whitney Houston said of her Sunday wardrobe malfunction 'I sang myself out of my clothes.'

*Whitney Houston's first UK performance in more than 12 years was highlighted by a wardrobe malfunction that caused the back strap of her dress to pop open and flap down by her sides for the rest of the song.

The artist, whose childhood nickname was Nippy, was singing her new single "Million Dollar Bill" on the "X Factor" Sunday night when her body-hugging, floor-length gown unhinged in the back, leaving the second pair of straps over her shoulders to hold up the dress.

In footage of her performance below, she can be seen looking down at her dress, then shrugging her shoulders. At another point, she holds each of the unfastened back straps out to the side, then, soldiers on through the
rest of the song.

"I sang myself out of my clothes," she said after her performance.

Houston, who pulled double duty as the contestants' mentor this week, was later praised by host, Dermot O'Leary, for her rather aggressive advice to the wannabes.

"Is that why you call me 'Lippy'?" she asked Cowell. "Simon calls me Lippy. I say what's on my mind just like he does."

T-PAIN BLASTED BY AFRICAN ARTISTS: Several say rapper was arrogant and disrespectful during a festival in South Africa.

*South African newspaper Sunday World is reporting that T-Pain angered fellow performers at Friday's Macufe African Cultural Festival in South Africa by exhibiting arrogant and disrespectful behavior backstage.

Under the headline "T-Pain in the ass for local musos," the article stated that T-Pain kicked local acts out of the backstage changing area because he refused to share space with them.

SABC1's Live crew member Phila Mazibuko was reportedly barred from filming T-Pain's performance, and artist Thembi Seete said her treatment in relation to T-Pain adds to her overall belief that U.S. artists look down on their peers from other countries.

"I want to thank Macufe organizers for allowing me to perform there, but what happened to me was unacceptable," she explained to the Sunday World. "I wasn't allowed to stand next to the stage when T-Pain was performing. It is sad that these U.S. artists think they are all that and [can] treat local artists the way they treated us."

Festival organizer Joe Chakela denied the accusations, but conceded there was a policy in place to make sure no artists remained on stage after a performance.

"People must not come with their own stories. Nobody was manhandled or chased away from the stage," he stated. "The policy was that artists who had finished performing must not go on stage or near it to watch T-Pain perform."

LEBRON JAMES DISCUSSES CANCER SCARE: NBA player describes 'nerve-racking'
wait for biopsy results.

*Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James is speaking out about the cancer scare he endured last January, an experience he says was unnerving and left him anxious for a few days.

When doctors at the Cleveland Clinic found a growth on James' parotid gland, which produces saliva, James was forced to wait several days for the biopsy results. He tells The Cleveland Plain Dealer that doctors didn't think it was cancer but had to make sure.

"It was a nerve-racking experience but I knew at that point I had to get it done," James said. "I was on edge for those few days, I was lucky the season was going on and we were playing really well so I could concentrate on basketball. My family was nervous."

After test results showed the growth was benign, James had surgery to remove it on June 3, just two days after the Cavs were eliminated in the Eastern Conference Finals.

He couldn't work out for a few weeks, but in the end that actually might have been a good thing. There was time for rest, and some relief.

"I just stayed in bed for a week or so. I could talk and eat but I didn't really want to do much," James said. "I just relaxed and got some of the best sleep I've had in my life."

ROSIE PEREZ NOT AVERSE TO BREAST LIFT: Actress says she may consider surgery to compete with Hollywood starlets. Plus, 'SVU' appearance on Wed.

*Although Rosie Perez is proud of her bust line, the 45-year-old says she's not ruling out a boob job in the future as a way to compete with younger actresses in Hollywood.

"It's part of the misogyny in the world," the film star told WENN.
"Guys want younger girls and so I think they subconsciously make women think when you're over 40 you're done... and we (women) got smart and were like, 'Forget you, we're fabulous!'

"As time goes on, I will not be opposed to help them (my breasts) out a little bit."

Perez makes a guest appearance on NBC's "Law & Order SVU" tomorrow (Oct. 21) as the mother of a pedophile-abuse victim who is suing an organization similar to NAMBLA (North American Man/Boy Love Association) for making her husband believe that his relationship with her son was perfectly normal.

BEYONCE POSTPONES MALAYSIA GIG: Move comes amid growing criticism of event from Islamic conservatives.

*For the second time in her career, Beyonce Knowles has decided to postpone a scheduled concert in Malaysia after Islamic conservatives raised concerns that her show would be immoral, the event's organizer said Monday.

Bey was scheduled to perform in Kuala Lumpur on Oct. 25, but Malaysian entertainment company Marctensia said Monday that the show "has been postponed to a future date to be announced shortly."

"The postponement is solely (the) decision of the artist and has nothing to do with other external reasons," the statement said.

A Marctensia representative wouldn't say whether the decision was prompted by criticism from the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, the country's largest opposition group, which has called for the show to be scrapped because it would promote "Western sexy performances."

Knowles also canceled a planned performance in Malaysia in 2007 following protest threats by the opposition Islamic party. At the time, her talent agency said the show was called off due to a scheduling conflict.
Instead, the singer went to Indonesia, also a largely Muslim country, which has less stringent rules about how performers should dress and behave.

'SOUTHLAND' STILL ON LIFE SUPPORT: Executive producer of Regina King's NBC series says he's in talks with two other networks to pick up drama.

*Fans of the recently-cancelled NBC drama "Southland" were given hope on Monday with news that its executive producer is currently negotiating with two other networks to air the series.

John Wells reportedly didn't identify the networks, but TNT, corporate sibling of show producer Warner Bros. TV, has been interested in acquiring the series and is considered the most likely contender to pick it up.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, there are no indications that "Southland," whose production was shut down by NBC this month, will resume filming anytime soon if picked up by another network.

The potential buyer would run the seven episodes from the first season and the six produced episodes from the second as a 13-episode freshman cycle.
