'SOUTHLAND' SAVED BY TNT: Cable channel to begin airing new episodes of Regina King drama in January.(November 3, 2009)
*It's official – former NBC drama "Southland" has a new home at TNT.
The series co-starring Regina King as an LAPD detective has been rescued by the cable channel and will air Tuesdays at 10 p.m. beginning Jan. 12. TNT says it will run all six episodes that were shot by NBC for its aborted second season, as well as the seven episodes from the first season. Produced by John Wells of "ER" fame, "Southland" earned praise from critics but suffered from luke warm ratings when it premiered last spring on NBC. It was renewed for this fall, but NBC canceled it before its October return. Set in Los Angeles, the gritty drama also stars Ben McKenzie and Tom Everett Scott. Speak Out
