TAMEKA FOSTER REGRETS LIPOSUCTION: Usher's ex tells Ebony magazine it was a 'foolish' decision that nearly killed her.
Foster suffered a cardiac arrest while doctors were administering anesthesia before the February procedure. She was placed in an induced coma for 24 hours and spent several days in an intensive care unit as doctors battled to save her.
The stylist, who has since made a full recovery, opted to undergo the surgery in a bid to lose her baby weight following the birth of the former couple's second son, Naviyd Ely Raymond, in December 2008.
"It was silly because my baby had only (been born) nine weeks or so (before), and I should've just waited," she tells Ebony magazine. "It was too soon after giving birth to be concerned about what I looked like physically.
"The foolish part for me was the fact that I wanted to take the shortcut. This is something I teach my children: Do not take the shortcut. It bothered me that I fell prey to it."
