MARIAH SAYS SHE SUFFERED EMOTIONAL ABUSE: Singer opens up to Larry King when asked about Rihanna.
Mimi was asked if she ever encountered the type of domestic abuse that Rihanna suffered at the hands of then-boyfriend, Chris Brown.
"Abuse has several categories," Carey said.
You've been emotionally abused?" King asked.
"Emotionally, mentally ..." Mariah said.
"Why is it hard to get out of it?" King asked.
"Well, it's scary," Carey said. "You know, I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in if your situation is similar to one of the situations that I've been in which I won't harp on.
"For me, to really get out, it was difficult because there was connection that was not only a marriage, but a business thing where the person was in control of my life."
