ITTY BITTY BITS: 'Project Runway' announces cast; MJ hat and shoes auctioned; Roland Martin makes Ebony's Power 150.

      *The season 7 cast of "Project Runway" has been revealed ahead of its Jan. 14, 10 p.m. EST return to Lifetime. Among the 16 designers: Anthony Williams, 28, of Birmingham, AL; Christiane King, 30 of Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire and Emilio Sosa, 43 of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The competition will return to its roots in New York City after spending the previous season in Los Angeles. The winner gets $100,000, a spread in Marie Claire magazine and the chance to launch their own line. Returning as well, Tim Gunn will mentor the contestants alongside host (and judge) Heidi Klum and judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors.

      *The hat and shoes worn by Michael Jackson in 2001 at his Madison Square Garden show were auctioned in London Wednesday for 22,800 pounds ($37,300 dollars), auctioneers Bonhams told the AFP. The accessories were worn by the late singer during an all-star concert to mark Jackson's 30th anniversary as a solo artist. The sale far surpassed its estimate of 10-12,000 pounds. Jackson's performance, filmed over two nights in September 2001, was watched by a record-breaking 44 million people when it aired two months later.

      *For the third year in a row, political commentator Roland Martin has been named one of the “Power 150” by Ebony magazine.  The nationally award-winning journalist joins President Obama, Chris Rock, the Williams sisters, Rev. Al Sharpton, LeBron James, Mo’Nique, Queen Latifah and Wanda Sykes on the list. The Power 150 Dec./Jan. issue is on newsstands now.
