The firework show was great and everything went off without a hitch…except for Mitt Romney’s visit and his criticisms of the event.
All of the U.S. athletes are at optimal competing condition and have even raked in a few gold medals. But, everyone didn’t come to the Olympics with the best sportsmanship on their mind.

*Sean Kingston marked the one-year anniversary of his near-fatal jet-ski accident today by paying thanks to the rescuer who saved his life.
The singer was knocked unconscious on May 29, 2011 after the jet ski he was driving crashed into a bridge in Miami.

Kingston and his female rider were dragged to safety by off-duty Coast Guard Jonathan Rivera and his friend Jimmy Vega and the musician was treated for severe injuries.
The 22-year-old spent several weeks at the Jackson Memorial Hospital undergoing surgery but he eventually made a full recovery, and now Kingston has reached out to the doctors and first responders who came to his rescue, admitting he feels lucky to be alive and have the support of his fans and best friend, rapper Ja-Bar.
He writes in a series of tweets:

*One of the most devastating car accidents that has ever happened occurred Sunday. The car crash is the second to happen in nearly this very same location. Another crash happened in 2006, along this stretch of highway.
One family has been destroyed over the loss of seven family members that died in a horrific accident where the family van bounced off the median and careened off a three-lane highway into and through a barrier, falling 60 feet into an uninhabited area of the Bronx Zoo.
The family members in the van include grandparents Jacob Nunez, 85, and Ana Julia Martinez, 81, both from the Dominican Republic, their daughters, Maria Gonzalez, 45, and Maria Nunez, 39, and three grandchildren Jocelyn Gonzalez, 10, the daughter of the driver, Niely Rosario, 7, and Marly Rosario, 3, both daughters of Nunez.
