*Rapper Wiz Khalifa has his wife Amber Rose to thank for paving the way for his collaboration with Adele after she bonded with the singer over motherhood at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
Rose was pregnant with the couple’s first child as they walked the red carpet, and new mom Adele was among the guests who ran up to the mom-to-be to chat about her pregnancy glow.
“She was like, ‘Amber! Amber!’ and told her how beautiful she looked,” Khalifa tells Rap-Up.com.
The British singer eventually turned to Khalifa and the brief red carpet meeting prompted Adele’s reps to reach out to the rapper and propose plans to work together in the studio.
He adds, “Her people contacted some of my people when they found out we were working on the album and sent some ideas through, so we were able to knock some things out.”
The track is due to appear on Khalifa’s forthcoming album, “Blacc Hollywood,” which will also feature a duet with Miley Cyrus.
Rose gave birth to son Sebastian just three weeks after the Grammys.
*Rapper Wiz Khalifa has brought in some surprising collaborators for his new album including singer-songwriter Adele and wild child, Miley Cyrus.
During his interview with FUSE TV, Wiz revealed that he recorded songs with two major female artists.
“I’ve got songs with Miley,” the rapper explained. “I’ve got songs with Adele.”
“I’ve got a lot of guest appearances that I’ve already done but none of them have been cleared for the album yet,” Wiz added.
His fifth studio album is titled “Blacc Hollywood,” and will hit stores later this year. Wiz dropped the first single off of the forthcoming project, “Look Into My Eyes.”
“Blacc Hollywood,” also features a song with The Weeknd. When it comes to the album, Wiz told Vibe magazine in June “it just represents the lifestyle.”
“Not really like ‘black people in Hollywood’ but just like a black attitude, not giving a [f--k] about anything. [It’s like] just really blacking out on the world. We bringing that to Hollywood.”
*Karl Lagerfeld is defending his comments about the weight of British singer Adele, claiming his remarks calling her ”a little too fat” was taken out of context.
“I never said that she was fat, I said that she was a little roundish,” he said on CNN’s “Fashion: Backstage Pass.” “A little roundish is not fat. But for such a beautiful girl, after that she lost eight kilo [17.6 pounds], so I think the message was not that bad.”
Following Lagerfeld’s comments last year, Adele, 25, insisted she had never aspired to be stick-thin.
“I’d lose weight if I was an actress and had to play a role where you’re supposed to be 40 pounds lighter, but weight has nothing to do with my career,” she said. “Even when I was signing [a contract], most of the industry knew if anyone ever dared say [lose weight] to me, they wouldn’t be working with me.”
Candice Glover murdering The Cure’s “Lovesong” on FOX’s American Idol (April 10, 2013)
*Candice Glover’s rendition of The Cure’s “Lovesong,” famously remade by Adele, caused a sustained and emotional reaction from the judges and audience on “American Idol” last night that hasn’t been seen since Fantasia’s “Summertime.”
Each of the final six contestants had to perform twice – a Hal David/Burt Bacharach-penned tune for the first song (Candice sang “Don’t Make Me Over”) and “songs I wish I had written” for the second appearance.
When Candice finished having her way with “Lovesong,” Mariah Carey – usually too confined by her outfits to stand during standing ovations – got up out of her seat and tossed glitter on the singer. Keith Urban got down on his knees and bowed repeatedly toward Candice. As the audience roared, Randy Jackson spoke on behalf of all the judges and said she just delivered one of the best performances he’s seen in the show’s 12 seasons.
All Candice could do was stand there in tears and soak it all in. (Watch below.) And just know that viewing it on this screen (even in full screen mode) does not do it justice.

*Rihanna’s been a big hit lately on the newsstands, but like her counterpart, Taylor Swift, who has also been plastered all over the place, fell a bit short when it came to sales.
In a report compiled by WWD, Taylor Swift covered five magazines, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Haper’s Bazaar, Elle, and Glamour in the past years, but her image didn’t really help with sales. Rihanna also graced the cover of Vogue, but sales flopped, averaging 32 percent below the six-month average. She was the second worse cover of the year for the publication, right behind the Ryan Lochte, Hope Solo and Serena Williams glossy.
But who did make it rain? Lady Gaga sold the most, then Adele.
Maybe that’s a sign. People might just be about tired of seeing Rihanna and sweet little Taylor Swift, everywhere they turn.
*Michelle Obama won’t turn the big 5-0 until January, but plans for her birthday party are already underway, with Beyonce and Adele reportedly booked for the milestone celebration.
That’s if an unnamed source for the UK’s Daily Mail is telling the truth.
“America’s first lady will be holding a huge celebrity-packed party for her birthday at the White House next year and, as she adores Adele and Beyonce, she has asked them both to sing,” the source supposedly told the tabloid. “Adele has graciously accepted and waived her usual fee for the high-profile private performance. She will sing a selection of her most-loved hits for the first lady and her friends.”
Beyonce, meanwhile, performed at President Obama’s inauguration earlier this year, and, along with her husband Jay-Z, was a major supporter of Obama during his run for presidency and reelection.
She also wrote the first lady a birthday card earlier this year for her 49th. “Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that [you] do for us,” Beyonce wrote. “I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to.”
Michelle Obama will turn 50 on January 17, 2014.
