*New York – Café Mocha Radio is ranked No. 1 for the month of December by Arbitron in New York City on Saturday mornings, 6 – 8 a.m., where it is heard on YMF Media’s Urban AC WBLS (107.5). The show earned a 6.7 share, 6-plus, surpassing all other stations in its time slot including Clear Channel AC WLTW (Lite FM) and all news WCBS-AM.
“Over the past year I’ve heard the show continue to grow with a good balance of hit music, entertainment and information. We’re really happy with the attention we receive from both talent and show management as well. They want to do more than just be on a lot of stations, they want to win,” says Skip Dillard, OM/PD of WBLS.
2012 has been an eventful year for the show, growing its affiliate list while sharing unique content and special guest appearances with its listeners. In October, Café Mocha welcomed First Lady Michelle Obama to the show to talk about family, voter’s rights and sisterhood. In recent months, the show has given listeners exclusive “backstage” access to the cast of Steve Harvey’s Think Like A Man, Live At The 2012 Essence Music Festival, and “Behind the Screen” specials with the cast of the movie Sparkle and Cedric the Entertainers Soul Man wrap party.
On the horizon are a new enhanced website and app as well as the Mocha Movement Empowerment Tour created to inspire women with hands-on interactive business seminars, style lounge and honoree luncheon with special celebrity guests.
