Lenin Ubeira-Cruz springs into action to make a citizen’s arrest of a shoplifter at his family store that he manages, Friday, June 21, 2013.
*How many times have you been at the local grocery store and someone gets hustled to the ground by the store owner for shoplifting?
Maybe once, right? What about news crews at your local store to interview the store owner about shoplifters…that are still in the store?
Lenin Ubiera-Cruz was being interviewed by WFTV about the consistent shoplifting at the Family Foods Supermarket store he manages in Orlando, Florida, when he had an unexpected opportunity.
Ubiera-Cruz was telling the reporter about all of the “stolen meat, beer, sausage and” how the man had “even stuffed a whole carton of eggs in his pants” when lo and behold, who comes skipping out of the store…the SHOPLIFTER!
You gotta see this!

*Detroit has had its share of troubles.
The city has been the murder and crime capital for more times than we can remember and the moments they have not been ranked in the criminal top spots, they’ve been overshadowed by corruption in city government.

In case you’re not familiar with the Google Street Team, they are the guys that drive down your street with a Street View Camera and take pictures of your street and house and track addresses for Google Maps and Google Earth.
One Detroit home can be seen on Google’s popular geographical tool to the world with a young man standing on his porch pointing what looks like a rifle at the camera.
*With all the technology available, the future still looked a lot more advanced in Blade Runner and Terminator than what those movies proposed of the 21st century.
Those flicks left the promise of flying cars and lasers replacing guns by now. But, one company is up to the challenge of bringing us into the 21st century…movie style.
Google has created glasses that give a “read-out” of every item or venue that is viewed through them, according to Forbes magazine. (more…)
*A long time ago, Marvin Gaye asked, in one of his most popular songs, “What’s Goin’ On?”
And that same song and his question of our society is still relevant today.
But now when mayhem ensues in our streets, it’s caught on tape and the question becomes more penetrating than ever before.
Two young men plot to take another young man’s life and we see it unfold before our eyes…in broad daylight. (more…)
