*Oh yay! Brandy is finally having a real wedding and a real marriage and we’re so happy for her.
The singer hasn’t been too open about the plans until recently, announcing what she has planned. She shared the deetes with talk show diva, Wendy Williams a while back, and bragged about her engagement to Ryan Press, who she’ll be jumping the broom with very soon.
The proposal happened on Christmas day, right after he got Brandy’s father’s blessing. (Romantic!)
“We all had a feeling,” said Brandy. “We didn’t know when he was gonna do it, but we all had a feeling. He asked for my parents’ permission. You know, the whole traditional thing.”
As far as the wedding is concerned, her maid of honor will be her sweet little 10-year-old daughter, Sy’rai, making for a perfect bonding moment in the ceremony.
But fans want to know if everyone will get the chance to be there front and center with a reality television special edition.
“I don’t know. I just wish I could invite a lot of my core fans to the wedding because they’ve been there for me for so long,” said Brandy. “That’s what makes me think about it that way because I’m very, very close with my fans.”
Oh, we’ll just have to wait and see.
*Health and a sexy body isn’t just a must-have for men in a relationship; women also want something good to look at.
Al Roker admits he and his size-4 wife, journalist Deborah Roberts, hit a rough patch in their marriage as they dealt with his weight.
Before going through gastric bypass surgery, the “Today” show weatherman spoke up about the struggles of “mixed-weight” couples.
“My wife is a size 4; she runs, she works out and it became a problem in our marriage,” Roker said in a first-person piece on Today.com. “On a Saturday she’d get up, get dressed to run and I’d be sitting on the couch or making breakfast for the kids and was quite happy about our choices. She, on the other hand, was not. “Unless you communicate that, it’s going be a problem.”
Roker had peaked at 340 pounds while his wife grew increasingly frustrated and angry about his complacency.
“She thought, ‘Why don’t you care enough about yourself and why don’t you care about me and our relationship enough to change?’” he said. “And I said, ‘Look, it’s not about you. It’s about me.’”
He went on to comment that the nagging didn’t help, however, siding with a recent study about mixed weight couples and arguing, concluding that they argue more, especially when the woman is the overweight half.
Shemar Moore and Toni Braxton
*Shemar Moore is in trouble with one of his exes over comments he made to BET.com recently. The actor opened up about his high-profile relationships with Halle Berry and Toni Braxton early in his career. But he opened up a little too much. “Toni was very upset over Shemar’s remarks,” an insider told the National Enquirer. “Shemar made it sound like Toni was chasing him just to have sex.” The source adds, “She thought his comments were in poor taste, and when he compared her to Halle, that was just classless and disrespectful.” In the interview, Moore said dating Braxton was a “wild ride,” but that his relationship with Berry was a deeper connection.
*Lauryn Hill has escaped the terror of federal prison for tax evasion, for the most part. but she did get 3 months in jail and 3 months home arrest. How did she do it? We don’t know but she should write a “How To” manual. Former band mate Pras predicted it though. Her Fugees co-star was recently asked about the issue and said, “I doubt she’ll do 3 months. He compared Lauryn to the most famous law-breaker in the land — one Lindsay Lohan sayin’ ”… If Lindsay Lohan didn’t do time, why would she?” That’s (twisted) logic for ya.
*Kelly Rowland gets real on her new single, “Dirty Laundry.”
The singer tells her world of fans about some of those skeletons most people don’t like to talk about; like her past relationship with an abusive boyfriend and her conflict with Beyoncé.
“Well my sister was on stage killing it like a mother f****r ,” she sings. “I was enraged, feeling it like a mother f*****r/ Went our separate ways, but I was happy she was killing it/ Bittersweet. She was up, I was down/ No lie I feel good for her, but what do I do now?”
She continues on, describing the physical abuse she endured from her ex-boyfriend, whom she doesn’t name in the song.
“Meanwhile this ni**a putting his hands on me,” sings Rowland. “Swear ya’ll don’t know the half of this industry…”
In the song, she also reveals that Bey tried to convince her to leave the abusive relationship, but he wouldn’t let her.
“He turned me against my sister…I missed ya’,” she sings.
Perhaps the most gut-wrenching lyrics come in the hook, where Rowland croons. “When you’re soaked in tears it never airs out/ When you make pain look this good it never wears out.”

*Ray J’s new, misunderstood single, “I Hit It First” has been the talk of the town lately.
Folks speculate the song is about Kim Kardashian, but in an interview with Hot 97, he cleared it all up.
“It’s a song, it’s not about that, it’s about a concept. People going way too deep,” Ray J said on Monday morning (April 8) when he phoned into New York’s Hot 97. “They just gotta keep it on the surface. I’m not trying to create no war, it’s all love; we’re doing music.”
He can say what he wants, but his lyrics are totally looking suspect. A few lines seem to dig at Kim’s pregnancy and alludes not only to Kanye West, but also to Reggie Bush.
“She might move on to rappers and ball players, but we all know I hit it first,” he sings before taunting “I hit it, I hit it” repeatedly.
Oh but there’s more.
He sings: ”I hit it north, with her ass goin’ south, but now baby chose to go west.”
At the end of the song, he offers to “make another movie.”
“It’s not a war, it’s not a dis song, we’re just having fun,” he said on the radio. “Bring it back to the song. That’s all I’m on.”
*Boxer Floyd Mayweather made an incredible point recently about being a man.
Before we share his words of wisdom, we do realize that he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed and hasn’t demonstrated the utmost respect for women.
But as the good book says, out of the ass’s mouth…
In a Showtime documentary, “30 Days in May,” the boxer explains that men should only have as many cars as they can handle women.
Some turned their noses up and became upset because he basically compared women to cars.
“Even though you can’t drive ten cars at one time, you got people that got ten cars. So, you’re able to keep maintenance on ten cars. So, I feel that as far as it comes to females, that same thing should apply. If you’re able to take care of 20, then you should have 20.”
Yeah, that’s a bit much homie.
But his woman didn’t seem to mind, at least in the public arena. He’s about to get hitched… eventually, to Shantel Jackson.
“I’m not the jealous type,” she recently said. “I know who I am and I know where I stand. I just feel like when you have that type of relationship where you can be open and honest, I just think it helps the trust and it helps keep things new and fresh. So, it doesn’t bother me and it’s never bothered me. I just think when you let a man be himelf, he will respect you that much to not disrespect you.”
