*Jay-Z will be joined by his friend Chris Martin and his group Coldplay for a special New Year’s Eve show at the Barclay’s Center in New York.
It’s not the first time the two acts have rung in the New Year. In 2010 they both played live at a concert in Las Vegas. Their most recent onstage collabo was earlier this year at the 2012 Paralympic Games closing ceremony in London.
Coldplay will also be playing a show at the Barclays Center the night before, on Dec. 30, though, these will not be with Jay Z according to the New York Times. The pair of dates will mark the first time the band has played in New York since 2005.

*In the midst of Gwyneth Paltrow’s “n-word” twitter drama, there are new reports that she and her husband Chris Martin of Coldplay will join their close friends Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z for a caravan trip in Florida.
“The two couples are planning a trip around Florida. Both Chris and Jay have been on intense world tours so they really need a break,” Contact Music quoted a source as telling Britain’s Sun newspaper.
“Gwyneth and Beyonce think the jaunt, going back to nature on a high-end Winnebago, will be the ideal getaway. It will be low-key but it’s just what they need and they’ll get to spend quality time together,” the source added.
As previously reported, Paltrow was at the center of a racial firestorm after she tweeted “Ni**as in Paris for real” from Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Watch the Throne” concert in Paris.

*Beyonce and Gwyneth Paltrow, besties who met through their respective husbands Jay-Z and Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, have reportedly booked a villa in Tuscany, Italy, for a luxury yoga-based getaway with their children.
Beyonce is expected to take eight-week-old daughter Blue Ivy, while Paltrow, 39, will include her kids 7-year-old Apple and 5-year-old son Moses, in the trip.
A source told The Sun newspaper: ”They’re planning daily yoga sessions at the private five-star villa, which has its own pool.
”Beyonce has also been taking her daughter Blue Ivy to baby yoga classes after Gwyneth recommended it, so they will spend some of the holiday doing that. And the pair will get stuck into a menu of Gwyneth’s favorite organic grub while they are away.”
Beyonce is expected to return to work soon after the holiday. The 30-year-old was spotted enjoying lunch in New York with Jay-Z last week when she openly nursed her little one at the table, according to US Weekly.
*Chris Brown and Rihanna are keeping folks guessing over a possible on-stage reunion at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.
The pair, who split in the wake of his infamous assault on her, have been hanging out in recent weeks, according to MTV News. Most recently, the former lovers were spotted at the same Super Bowl party at Hollywood’s Greystone Manor, with a blonde-haired Rihanna sporting a bodysuit with Chanel hat and ripped jeans. See photo below.
Rihanna spotted leaving Greystone Manor nightclub in West Hollywood with friends. There were reports that Chris Brown was in the club at the same time and later left via a side exit of the club.
Rihanna fuelled speculation after tweeting, “”What a crazy night?!!”, with Brown tweeting, “Can’t stop lookin.”
Brown’s rep has denied rumors of a romantic reconciliation, telling ABC News, “He is with his girlfriend, Karrueche, and is not cheating,” though neither party has commented on speculation the duo could perform together at Sunday’s Grammys. Both acts are slated to perform, though one of Rihanna’s performances is already confirmed as a duet with British rockers Coldplay.
Rihanna’s latest album, Loud, is nominated for Album of the Year, as well as Best Pop Vocal Album and she has also been nominated for her collaborations with Drake, Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Fergie. Brown’s CD is nominated for Best R&B album.
*Nearly three years after Chris Brown beat up his then girlfriend Rihanna, rumors are surfacing that the two have been secretly hooking up for the past year. But Breezy’s rep has firmly denied there is any truth to the gossip, reports MTV.
“He and Rihanna are just friends,” his rep tells ABC News. “He is with his girlfriend, Karrueche, and is not cheating.”
Sources told US Weekly that the former couple “meet up very casually,” adding, “She comes to see him anytime she’s in L.A.” Other sources say that “they can’t get enough of each other. I don’t see it ending well.”
“Rihanna loves to live dangerously,” another source added. “And talking to and hooking up with Chris is all part of that.”
While Brown is speaking out against the report, instead of responding to the rumors, Rihanna has been posting a series of vacation photos on her Twitter. In them, she’s seen posing on the beach in her bikini, hanging with her friends on a surfboard and working out on a treadmill.
Rihanna has also been focusing on the positive, which includes another week at the top of the charts for her Calvin Harris-produced track, “We Found Love.” As previously reported, she’s also set to perform with Coldplay at the Grammy Awards on February 12. She appears on their “Mylo Xyloto” track, “Princess of China.”
“My friends @ColdPlay and I will be sharing the stage for a performance at this years Annual Grammy Awards!” Rihanna tweeted Wednesday night, later adding, “I’m in a great mood, and I got some GREAT NEWS!!! PRINCESS OF CHINA #GRAMMYS2012.”
*Rihanna and Coldplay are set to bring their collaboration “Princess Of China” to the stage of the 54th Grammy Awards.
RiRi, who is nominated for four Grammys including album of the year for “Loud,” tweeted the news to her followers Wednesday night, calling it “BONKERS.”
Coldplay, meanwhile, is up for three awards.
The two camps confirmed in September that they’d written a track together, with the resultant “Princess Of China” becoming one of the most pop-orientated numbers on Coldplay’s fifth studio album “Mylo Xyloto.” [Listen to the track below.]
As previously reported, LL Cool J will host the CBS show, to be broadcast on Feb. 12 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Paul McCartney was announced Thursday by The Recording Academy as another performer added to the ceremony. The ex-Beatle is being honored during Grammy week as the MusiCares person of the year. His new album, “Kisses on the Bottom,” will be released Feb. 7.
Other Grammy performers include the Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Jason Aldean.
