*It’s funny learning about new celebrities who are fans of other celebrities, like newest sensation Miguel and one of his celeb idols, Beyoncé.
The singer who has swept the R&B world with his Prince/Ne-Yo fusion (in music and style), is in disbelief that he gets to work with one of the biggest icons on the planet.
“I just got word that I’ll be in [the studio] with Beyoncé tomorrow which is amazing,” Miguel tells MTV. “I heard it from my team, and I was like, ‘Are you serious? Are you sure? Are we talking about the Beyoncé?’”
Totally hyped by the news, Miguel imagines a phenomenal collaboration with magical sounds and wooing lyrics.
“I’m excited to hear the direction of her new material, and hopefully come up with something that’s really special and really showcases her perspective,” Miguel says. “I think being a part of someone else’s creative process is all about having your surf board ready and just ready to ride that wave.”
*2 Chainz just kind of came out of nowhere, doing his Lil Jon thing appearing on everyone else’s tracks.
The rapper has popped up on songs with Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber. He says it’s all a part of his master plan to stay cool, relaxed, and making that money.
“My whole theory behind doing guest features was to remain hot in the streets,” he told CBS Local, “actually being a part of everyone’s google. When you google them, my name would pop up.”
Collaborating with the popular teenage sensation for his “Boyfriend” remix was a bit of a challenge for the rapper, formerly called Tity Boi – one can imagine the challenge.
“The Justin Bieber verse was something I could do,” he said. “The challenge was doing a clean witty verse without cursing, and to know the fan base and the crowd I was catering to. It was fun. I would love to do more records like that.”
Now that he’s set the standard and established some clout, he’s ready to transition to the next phase of his strategy and do something outside the box.
*John Legend has revealed that he would like to collaborate with Amy Winehouse on her next album.
The crooner, currently at work on his fifth studio album, revealed he is also working on a number of projects for other artists including Estelle and Keri Hilson, but is really hoping to work with Winehouse on her comeback record.
“I’m hoping Amy Winehouse makes a comeback. I really like Amy,” he told the Daily Star. “I’d love to work with her. I’d love to represent her. That would be interesting.”
Discussing his recent collaborative efforts, he said: “I’m putting out the new Estelle album, which is gonna be very good. I worked on Keri Hilson’s new song called ‘All The Boys’ and I’ll be on Lupe Fiasco’s new album as well.”
It was recently reported that Winehouse will play new material on her upcoming Brazil tour.
*Oprah has the whole world using Skype, so Facebook said why don’t we get in on it. The word on the web streets according to AllThingsD, they are now considering a venture where all your communication goes down LIVE with all those you love.
The popular streamer, Skype, will stand to gain 500 million new customers. Facebook will probably gain another 100 million customers with this deal and Mark Zuckerberg will be laughing like a villain … bwwwwaaahhhahahahahahahahha! (more…)
*Rick Ross is bringing in the big guns for his newly recorded track, “Live Fast, Die Young.”
He announced on Twitter that Spike Lee just might be the one to direct the video for the track.
“Me and Yeezy made a different kind of record … video may require different kind of director,” he wrote. He didn’t directly say who that director would be but he did post a photo of himself next to Lee.
He says this track is nothing like the ones he has made in the past.
“I feel like it’s one of the best records I’ve been a part of in my career,” he said. “Kanye produced it and we collaborated on it. It’s a phenomenal record. I’m just extremely excited.”
“Teflon Don” is expected to drop in July. Ross will also be on the stage at the 10th annual BET Awards on June 27.
