A source told Deadline.com, “The plan is to do specials with her, not a whole series.”
E! will reportedly air three Minaj specials later this fall. Some filming has already taken place, according to Deadline.
Minaj, currently an “American Idol” judge alongside Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson, actually appeared on E! recently in “Idol” executive producer Nigel Lythgoe’ s new show “Opening Act.” She gave a spot on her upcoming tour to boy band Gotham Citi, as part of the series.
Minaj has a six-week tour starting in late October and an expanded re-release of her “Pink Friday” album out in November.
The reports were sparked by gossip blogger Perez Hilton, who claims that the 29-year-old singer/rapper has a project in the works with the network, citing sources close to the “Starships” singer and new “American Idol” judge.
Minaj started her gig as an “Idol” judge last week when season-12 auditions launched in New York. The Fox competition’s host, Ryan Seacrest, produces E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians and its numerous spin-offs, among other series.
Reps for E! and Minaj have not commented on the rumor.
*Rumor has it that Lamar Odom has had enough of being on reality TV.
The Dallas Mavericks player and star of E!’s “Khloe and Lamar” with his wife Khloe Kardashian is said to be looking to ease away from the cameras, but his wife is unsure if it is a good move.
”Lamar wants out of the reality TV limelight, but Khloe is convinced that if Lamar doesn’t continue being on TV with her, there would be no Khloe,” a source told HollywoodLife.com. ”The whole reason Khloe has become so popular is because of her marriage to Lamar. She obviously doesn’t want Lamar to be unhappy, but she knows that all the drama makes for good TV. Fame is Khloe’s number one priority. Unfortunately, this is what she has been taught.
”Of course, Lamar is not obligated to star in any more Kardashian reality shows, but Khloe would be devastated if he said no. Khloe may end up having to choose between her marriage or reality TV and fame.”
