*“Extra” sat down with Bobbi Kristina and Nick Gordon for their first interview together since announcing their marriage on Twitter January 9.
The couple said the criticism surrounding their romance actually made them stronger. Nick said, “It put a fire in us,” to which Bobbi Kristina added, “It lit a fire up under our ass and we went haulin’.” Nick explained, “The critics can say whatever they want to say… it’s like we have a force field and that s**t’s just bouncing off of it.”
This dismissive attitude toward media questioning underlies the Smith family’s irritation with the comparisons made between them and the Kardashian clan (makes sense).
Will and Jaden attended the premiere of their new movie “After Earth” in New York City Wednesday night. The pair was also joined by family members –Jada Pinkett Smith,Willow, and Trey, telling “Extra’s” AJ Calloway about the family’s new mantra. Will not commenting on the Hollywood headlines that his family is turning into a version of the Kardashians. Jaden not commenting on rumors he is dating Kylie Jenner. Jaden simply told AJ, “Let’s not discuss it.” Will agreed, “Let’s not discuss it…That’s our family line now.”
Kylie did attend the premiere, showing up in a hot little number and telling Calloway that the outfit actually belongs to superstar big sis Kim. “I stole it from Kim’s closet.”
Earlier in the day, Jaden was spotted having lunch with Kylie. The crazy kid was disguised as Iron Man.
“Ah dang, you found out already.” Kylie asked Calloway smiling. “He’s crazy…”I just let him have fun with all his stuff.”
Dad Will apparently didn’t know about the lunch date. He turned to his son and joked, “Your movie’s opening this weekend. What are you doing? It’s okay… we’re gonna talk about that. We’re gonna talk about that. That’s poor parenting.”
Singer Alicia Keys making a surprise appearance at a volunteer screening of the “The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete” during the 2013 Sundance Film Festival at Library Center Theater on January 17, 2013 in Park City, Utah
*Alicia Keys has the secret to keeping her voice 100 percent while on tour.
In an exclusive interview with Extra’s Terri Seymour, she revealed backstage at the Staples Center recently that she prescribed her voice good old fashion Gummy Bears.
“You melt a handful of gummy bears in hot water and something about the glycerin that really clears your voice. And it was amazing, my vocal coach told me it’s like an ancient secret… now I can eat gummy bears anytime I want!”
Her colorful, bear friends, keep the singer going but it’s the people surrounding her that make her unstoppable.
Not only does her candy keep her going, but she’s having a blast with fellow singer, Miguel.
“Miguel’s with me on the road… I feel so grounded and feel so in my element and in my space which is rare, cause it usually takes you a good 10 shows in to kind of start to figure it out so that’s a big blessing.”
Touring is not traditional feat for Alicia because she brings along her son, Egypt.
“He’s officially a rock star, especially the other night when I looked at the clock,” she said. “It was 12:30, he was up and I was like ‘Oh no!’ He’s young enough to be able to enjoy this process and I’m happy I can show him different places in the world and he can meet different people and he’s so social and engaged… I’m happy about all that, but that bedtime, ugh.”
*Halle Berry sat down with “Extra’s” Mario Lopez to chat about life, love, baby, and her new movie, “The Call.”
The Oscars were fun and had its moments for the actress, but the things that really erk her nerve is paparazzi going after her and her little girl, Nahla.
“Does she ever think like it’s normal when photographers take pictures of you?” Halle, “No, it’s totally abnormal, it’s weird for her and she’s at that age where she’s questioning why and she wants to be left alone and it’s bothersome it’s scary for her.”
Speaking of scary, she stars in “The Call” as a 911 operator who gets involved with rescuing a kidnapped victim. In the midst of the shooting, she ended up in the emergency room.
“I get hurt almost every movie, I always want to do my own stunts, I got a little hurt, but that’s ok.”
In a recent sit down with Extra, she told AJ Calloway that she wants to get the scoop with George Zimmerman, the killer of 17-year-old, unarmed Black teen Trayvon Martin.
“It is a tragedy and it is a shame that we’re sitting here 33 days later and there hasn’t been an arrest, or questioning of what actually happened. It’s a tragedy and it is a shame and we all know it.”
She went on to say she’d “love to talk to him.”
Winfrey also commented that she’s seen the posts on the Internet, people from all backgrounds outraged saying nothing has changed.
“… it’s a tragedy and it’s a shame and justice needs to be served.”
In the interview she also spoke about the changes at OWN and her exclusive interview with Bobbi Kristina, saying it almost didn’t happen.
“I was on the plane leaving New York … the producer says we can’t find Bobbi Kristina … and we don’t know if she’s going to do an interview. And I said, ‘By the time I land I’m hoping you would have found her.’”
Once Oprah arrived to the home of Pat Houston, Bobbi Kristina had re-emerged. Winfrey said:
“When I saw her, the reason I didn’t sit down [with Bobbi Kristina] is because I was told that she didn’t really want to sit down, so I just used that moment.”
Lady O also spoke on the canning of Rosie O’Donnell.
“I called [Rosie] and said ‘We’re not going to be able to go forward ‘… we both knew. She is a class act, one thousand per cent.”
*At the junket for his upcoming comedy, “A Thousand Words,” Eddie Murphy told “Extra” that, while he thought Billy Crystal did a “great job” hosting the Academy Awards, the show would have been “a little quicker with me driving.”
As previously reported, Murphy was tapped to host the ceremony when Brett Ratner was at the helm, after the pair worked together on “Tower Heist.” But Ratner resigned following the firestorm caused by his homophobic remarks about rehearsals. Once Ratner was out, Murphy soon followed.
But now, Murphy says he’s still interested in the gig for next year.
“If they ask me again and it comes around, I’m totally open to do. It’s one of the few things that I haven’t done as a comedian. So, yeah, one day.”
