*They might be ‘just goshing’ in the photo above, but the real deal almost happened at the House of Blues in Orlando last Friday night, when Hugh Douglas got drunk and threatened to beat the crap out of his ESPN2 colleague, Michael Smith.
According to a source who witnessed the altercation and shared details with The Big Lead,Douglas – who appears on “Numbers Never Lie” on ESPN with Michael Smith and Jemele Hill – was trying to get on stage where the DJ was playing, and threatened to beat up Smith if he couldn’t help out. After the third threat, Smith tried to walk away. That was when Douglas grabbed his wrist and called him an “Uncle Tom” and a “House N—-.”
The witness said Smith then turned around to protect himself, at which point onlookers rushed in to break it up.
Three independent sources have verified this version of events.
Someone from ESPN then pulled Douglas aside and the two briefly spoke before Douglas left the party.
Network sources say Douglas has been yanked off “Numbers Never Lie” while ESPN attempts to sort out the details from the night. Generally, some type of social media comments would’ve surfaced by now, but Douglas hasn’t tweeted since the incident and couldn’t be reached for comment.
Smith, who hosted the show Monday, didn’t respond to a request for comment.
The event was hosted by the National Association of Black Journalists, and the party was to raise money for college scholarships. An NABJ official who refused to be quoted by name told The Big Lead, “we’re confident that ESPN will handle the situation in an appropriate manner.
*Ludacriswas hosting a party at a nightclub in Atlanta Friday night when a huge brawl broke out. Despite reports that the rapper was struck in the head with a bottle, he seems to be laughing the whole thing off. According to claims from several outlets, a man cracked Ludacris over the head with an bottle of alcohol over money.
Apparently the Atlanta based actor/rapper had what seems to be a “Helluva Night.” With mic in hand, Luda was making his rounds in the club when the altercation took place. Several people were seen exchanging blows and punches. Some reports place Ludacris in the center of the chaos with speculation that he jumped into the ongoing fight. Allegedly after entering the brawl, Luda or his girlfriend Eudoxie was hit with a bottle.
In the video below Ludacris is seen holding the microphone, interacting with the crowd and doing his thing. He was standing in front of the camera and then Luda is seen walking with bodyguards when all hell broke out. It seems like some partygoers got caught up in the heat of the moment and tried to attack Ludacris out of nowhere. Luckily the rapper was not afraid to “throw them bows” if necessary as he stood his ground in the scuffle. The video never shows him actually being hit with any bottles. The guy that started everything on the other hand, was left in pretty bad shape afterwards, but it’s like the saying goes, don’t start nothing won’t be nothing!
To squash the rumors that he was injured or stomped out, Ludacris posted a series of humorous Vine videos (below) showcasing that he was free of any bruises or scratches. He followed the video montage with an Instagram picture featuring the caption, “This is what a bottle to the head looks like.”
In an ongoing, one-sided, haphazard battle for his identity, Freeway Ricky Ross, the former drug trafficker, continues to accuse the much larger Rick Ross of stealing his name.
The latter, is one of hip hop’s most successful artists and weighs north of 300 pounds, minus all the gaudy jewelry and chicken wings he eats. Nevertheless, the pint-sized Ross stands by his convictions, and is even willing to duke it out with his name-stealing enemy despite numerous physical disadvantages.
“I would take him … if we do it for charity,” he said. “We go in and we donate all the money to some kids. I’d be willing to do that.”
Despite Ricky Rozay’s weight advantage, Freeway Ricky Ross is confident that he wouldn’t be much of a challenge.
“Yeah, even though he’s ’bout 400 pounds bigger than me. That don’t mean nothing ’cause he look like he ’bout to have a heart attack anyway.”
The ex-con also takes shots at Ross’ sexuality, alleging an intimate relationship with Diddy.
“I saw them kiss one time,” he said. “Somebody showed me a video of where they kissed. They was on stage and they hugged and put their lips together. I can only imagine what they do in private. Hopefully those tapes never get out because I know they probably film it!”
*The stupidity is rising all over the world and we are held hostage by it.
We reported on an incident July 2012, where two toddlers were forced to fight one another by the adult that was caring for them. We thought it was an anomaly, but we see now, it is not.
Somewhere in New York, a video was discovered of children being forced to fight one another, even when one child did not want to participate. There are adults standing around laughing and encouraging the fight while taping the fight with their cell phones, according to the Huffington Post report from Gothamist. You can hear one woman yelling, “Slap her! Slap her! Slap her!” The video was reported to authorities, in hopes that the culprits would be apprehended and thrown under the jail, but there hasn’t been an arrest made so far. YouTube removed the video from their site, but not before this comment was made about the sometimes irresponsible video outlet.
“Just when you think our voyeuristic culture of glorified violence couldn’t sink much lower, YouTube is there to reveal new depths,” Gothamist wrote in reference to the clip.
But no one wants to see the video of children fighting anyway, right?! The heartbreaking video gave clues to police like a double long bus in the background, where NBC 4 noticed and reported it “is somewhere in Manhattan or the Bronx because only those boroughs have that type of vehicle.”
Let’s pray that all those involved in victimizing these young girls are locked up…ASAP!
