*The first lady, first daughters and first mother-In-law are all headed to China this month.
In an announcement Monday on the White House blog, Michelle Obama says a China visit is important because it is the most populous country in the world, with more than 1.3 billion people, and is an important world actor.
She’ll be accompanied by daughters, Malia and Sasha, and her mother, Marian Robinson, who lives at the White House. President Obama will not be on the trip; he is scheduled to depart the U.S. later that week for stops in the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Saudi Arabia.
*“Extra’s” Mario Lopez joined First lady Michelle Obama in Miami for an exclusive interview as she spread the word about her Let’s Move initiative.
The two even shared some dance moves and lead a Zumba class with children inside the NFL Youth Education Town.
Mrs. Obama revealed to Mario what life after the White House may look like … she says it’s unclear if they will move back to Chicago:
*First lady Michelle Obama praised award-winning performer Cicely Tyson Monday at a special White House screening of her latest work, “The Trip to Bountiful.”
The event was held in recognition of African-American history month, which FLOTUS said is about “honoring those who came before us” and “resolving to do our part to live up to that example.”
The Tony-Award winning play — originally created by playwright Horton Foote in 1953 — was revived on stage by Tyson and a stellar cast which drew massive crowds during the show’s run on Broadway and earned accolades for their distinguished work. Cable network Lifetime tapped Tyson and her stage co-stars Blair Underwood and Vanessa Williams for a film adaptation, to debut next month.
*The last time Michelle Obama and Jimmy Fallon were together on his “Late Night” series, they entertained us with the “Evolution of Mom Dancing.” Last night, on her first visit to the “Tonight Show” under Fallon, she appeared with the host and fellow guest Will Farrell in one of Fallon’s most popular “Late Night” sketches, “Ew!”
The premise: Fallon is a pre-teen girl named Sara whose every other word is “ew” – as in “Ew, that’s gross.” She hosts a talk show in her basement where guests discuss things that may or may not warrant an “ew” reaction. Her guests last night were her friend Stacy (Farrell) and Michelle Obama. (Watch above.)

For her sit-down interview, the First Lady chatted about family life in the White House and promoted her Let’s Move initiative. She also put in a plug for her husband’s health care law. (Click through to watch.)
On the challenge of raising two young daughters, ages 12 and 15, in the rarified world of the White House, she laughed, “They want nothing to do with us.”
